I am trying to make this deck viable in Modern tournaments.

I don't necessarily care if I am getting top 8s every time (though it would be nice), I just want to get my fair share of wins, and have some fun with it.

THE PLANESWALKERS

Elspeth, Knight-Errant - Produce chump blockers, buff swings, make everything indestructible. This one definitely pulls her weight every time she hits the board.

Jace Beleren - He is a card advantage machine. Enough said. I run him over the other jaces because he is a cheap and consistent source of card advantage.

Sorin, Lord of Innistrad - His main job is to gain me some life back, and give all my tokens a perma-buff. His ultimate has also helped to cement my victory in several games.

Tamiyo, the Moon Sage - Locks down threats and serves as another source of card advantage. She is a two of instead of a three of, because she is not as important to me as the others.

THE SUPPORT

Lingering Souls - This is one of the best token spells in modern. It gives you a total of four tokens for the price of 1 card, and is painlessly discarded when forced to discard a card. I often win the game with the spirits from this card.

Supreme Verdict / Wrath of God - I run these as two and two instead of four of one to avoid things like surgical extraction, and because it is nice to have options. Board wipes are extremely useful in this deck.

Timely Reinforcements - Helps me gain life back and gives me three more chump blockers. This guy really helps me outpace aggro decks. Easily sided out.

Mana Leak - Gives me a little bit of control over the board. I side in more counterspells as needed.

Path to Exile - The best removal spell in modern. Enough said.

Vendilion Clique - I get to reshape your (or my) hand AND I am left with a 3/1 beater? What's not to love?

Wall of Omens - A blocker who cantrips.

THE SIDEBOARD

Detention Sphere - Against token decks this is practically a board wipe. Helps me deal with threats that aren't creatures.

Esper Charm - I will more than likely be replacing this with Dismember. There really is no circumstance where I side this in.

Leyline of Sanctity - Shuts down mill and burn. It also saves my planeswalkers from Lightning Bolt and the like.

Negate - This deck's biggest weakness is other control decks. That is where spells like Negate come in.

Render Silent - I originally intended to use this against eggs, but now that eggs is "dead," I don't know what to do about this slot. Maybe it is worth leaving this in, maybe it should change. I'll get back to you on that.

Supreme Verdict - Sometimes it is worth it to go up to five board wipes mainboard. So I keep one more in the side just in case.

I want to make this deck as good as it can be, so any and all constructive criticism is more than welcome.

+1s are always a nice ego boost as well. =]
