Why do you choose not to play Illusionist's Bracers?

Illusionist's Bracers is never something I'd want to cast/equip for 5 instead of pumping that mana into Yisan and I find the Seeker of Skybreak combo very lackluster (and think Seeker by itself is supremely underwhelming).

Hey Shaper, I was wondering what your metagame looks like. I have a combo-heavy meta. Do you suggest any changes to the list to adjust? I have grixis storm, karador, and arcum as the meta so far.

Hi I love this deck and am building it to beat up on my "friends". But as a not yet started Yisan player what are the tutor chains to use. I know you said you where building a play guide in the primer but have not seen anything. Thanks again for the great ideas.

The chains are always dynamic, but the acceleration lines look like:
(Land chain) Sakura-Tribe Scout Scryb Ranger (whatever; Azusa is nice if you do this chain a lot) Karametra's Acolyte Seedborn ...
(Elf chain) Quirion Ranger Priest of Titania Elvish Archdruid Temur Sabertooth Seedborn ...
The elf chain is probably the easiest to play and learn.
A lot of playing Yisan well is knowing how and when to use Yisan to interact with other players. Don't be afraid to slow down to answer a threat. Your lines should be crafted around what you draw (the artifact wincons open up different lines, as does how you best play around your own/others' stax).
Yisan primer is still in the plans.

Sorry for the formatting. It didn't like my Unicode arrow symbols.
(Land chain) Sakura-Tribe Scout > Scryb Ranger > (whatever; Azusa is nice if you do this chain a lot) > Karametra's Acolyte > Seedborn > ...
(Elf chain) Quirion Ranger > Priest of Titania > Elvish Archdruid > Temur Sabertooth > Seedborn ...

What do you think about Root Maze, it slows down the faster artifact decks, but is really bad with fetchlands/quirion ranger. I think it's worth considering. Another idea I had was playing Lodestone Golem as a tutorable sphere effect, would you play it in a stormy meta?

You have Lignify and Song of the Dryads to take care of problem creatures like Linvala, Keeper of Silence but what are your thoughts on something tutorable, like Ulvenwald Tracker ?

Hey Shaper, as this is your budget-less list, I was wondering if you could make even further upgrades what they would be? Budget completely aside.

Tangerinefox This list is completely budgetless, there is no card excluded for cost/availability.

ShaperSavant Awesome, was just curious. 1k is great for a competitive build as opposed to 2.5 or more with Storm builds that I was looking at. However for the moment my wallet could not comprehend a non-budget build which I'm glad you've made the primer over at r/edh (or r/cEDH don't quite remember). Anyway, great build and keep it coming I've always enjoyed your musings of MTG.

Id assume the Eldritch Evolution would be great in this deck. What do you think?

I'm glad to see you added Eldritch Evolution and Natural Order. Any reason for cutting Choke and Top?
August 31, 2016 9:59 p.m.
ShaperSavant says... #20
Ohthenoises Not sure how long NO will stay; the deck feels too tutor dense in my small amount of playtesting since I made these changes. I'd also really like to fit Top back in. Choke's going back into the immediate sideboard for now so I can test some new cards.

What is the reasoning behind excluding Wall of Roots, Skyshroud Ranger and Whisperwood Elemental?
September 3, 2016 9:33 a.m.
Ohthenoises says... #22
MoxProxy I can answer the last two.
Skyshroud Ranger says "as a sorcery" meaning that you can't use the Rangers' untap and drop the land you return on other people's turns.
In cEDH wipes are fairly rare and people rely more on spot removal to take care of problem permanents. Whisperwood thus loses some efficiency.
September 3, 2016 10:37 a.m.
What about Nullmage Shepherd, Fierce Empath and Woodland Bellower?
September 3, 2016 7:29 p.m.
ShaperSavant says... #24
Wall of Roots: doesn't fit the ramp curve. You want 1 mana ramp to play on turn 1 so you can play Yisan on turn 2.
Skyshroud Ranger: this is okay. The sorcery clause makes it too slow for the fully-tuned build.
Whisperwood Elemental: Good sideboard card if you face a lot of wraths.
Nullmage Shepherd: Somewhat slow, but decent if you need to answer a lot of artifacts/enchantments. Is relevantly an elf. Outshined by Bane at 6.
Fierce Empath: Narrow tutor in a deck that already has so many.
Woodland Bellower: Excellent in Yisan and is already core in the deck.

I am quite frankly shocked that this is not another Tasigur deck.
