What would you prefer to include in Tymna's slot when missing it? Sygg or Azra Oddsmaker from your bugdet list?

Good question. I haven't tested Sygg yet so I'm not sure how consistent it is but my gut tells me it should be a reasonable source of CA. I like Sygg's CMC but playable warriors have a lot of upside for Najeela. I think either is fine and picking one over the other (or over Compost) may just be a meta call at the end of the day.

No need to tag me since I get a notification whenever anybody posts on my decklists. I just do it as a courtesy to people I'm replying to. :)

As cool of a card as it is, I don't think Wheel of Fortune is particularly good in this deck. It's a symmetrical draw effect that Najeela doesn't break parity on like lists with a lots more rituals and fast mana. Drawing other people into new hands is often a recipe for disaster if you can't leverage it with some synergies.

What's most common usage of Silence here? I played this deck only a few dozens matches but I dont understand when play it here. Casting it on my turn before setting Enchantment or Derevi when already having our queen on field usually causes combined efforts to killing the lady from opponents. Mostly, successful.

AvoiDFaTE: Silence is best used during an opponents upkeep, before they draw. if you use it on your own turn, it only stops an opponent from using instant-speed answers that they may have wanted to use on your turn, such as counter spells. using it during an opponents upkeep stops them from casting almost anything for the turn.

It’s a really powerful piece of interaction. Can either disrupt opponents or protect you before comitting to a combo turn. All for just one mana.

You've never lived until you have an ad naus/necropotance player dig super deep then you Silence then as soon as they fill their hand with now useless cards.

You're right. Had no such experience. Most useful case Silence gave me is a preventing Toxic Deluge known before. Thank you.

I have a math question under the fighting stax section. Is the grand total supposed to be 138 or am I missing something that makes it 140. I might be confused but it just seems off a bit?

The number of tokens should always be odd unless there's a second warrior on the field. Nevertheless amazing deck.

April 2, 2019 3:20 a.m.

I may be missing something here. I totally understand the infinite combat phase parts and how the rest of the deck gets you to that point.

BUT (and I may have missed something)

Whats to stop an enemy from blocking? 99% of the time, my enemies have something on the board that can block and kill a 3/2 commander. Also there are 0 warriors in the deck asides from the commander herself. Asides from very good evasion, if your enemies have ANY board state at all you will be stuck.

Or is the game plan really to beat people down with a bunch of mana dorks?

Its a competitive deck. Najeela should come at turn 2 ( or even faster ). And i believe in that early, najeela always find the way that she can attack. Yea maybe a few dorks an opponent can have but they will not just block najeela with it. Once najeela produce warrior(s), she dont hv to attack anymore next turn. Or simply find a removal to clear najeela path to victory.

With this list, this deck should win at turn 2-4, above that just be patience control the table to find board wipes. IMO

I'm interested to see if any of the walkers from war will be worth a slot, ashiok, karn, and teferi all seem very strong. Do you think any are worth considering?

Could you check out my Najeela deck I’ve been working on, it’s not really as competitive as yours is, but I’d like to think it is decent. Najeela and the war bound

is it possible to explain how good jace would be in this deck ?

April 30, 2019 11:39 a.m.

TzickyT

In testing it feels like a pretty strict upgrade to Laboratory Maniac on forbidden tutor lines and in some other spots. You lose out on some avenues to tutor him (Eldritch Evolution and Eladamri's Call) but that is made up for by the fact that he comes with his own draw effect and plays around Abrupt Decay a lot better.

would the new tamyo then also not be a good addition ? or is it then to much mana for to less to offer?

May 1, 2019 4:21 p.m.

TzickyT

New Tamiyo doesn't consistently do anything we're interested in. Basicaly, it's too much mana for the average use case of being a Regrowth.

How do you feel about the new Domri, Anarch of Bolas ? He will give you mana that can save you a counterspell to protect Derevi or Edric.

He pumps the entire team tokens becoming 2/1 and Najeela a 4/2 making the damage stack quicker.

As well as a fight ability making it possible to fight a Tymna, Zur or other popular cEDH commanders? :)

Otherwise really love the deck, have made a more budget friendly version for my meta, but love the playstyle as it is a lot like Mono Blue tempo in standard which is another deck i love. +1 :)

I have a hard time justifying all those lifeloss cards as I am forced to play with a solely fetch/ shockland manabase already. You have any tip to play around that a little bit?

Also whats the gameplan vs a more midrangy Pod? Like if people clogging the board with bears ans dorks its pretty unlikely one gets an initial Najeela attack, let alone multiple attacks in. I know theres a fallback to Consultation (which basically every blue deck does anyway..) but it would be sweet to have a cute answer to such a situation. You guys testes zealous persecution or reconnaissance maybe?
