A deck built around the community-made card Waste Not. Whispering Madness makes my opponent discard several cards at once and gives me gas to keep going too.
Ideally I'll be able to cast Waste Not T2, cast a flying creature T3, Whispering Madness T4, cipher it, attack, and cast it again. That should give me at least three zombies, one or two cards, and enough mana to cast a spell or two, and should throw my opponent's plan out the window. Magical Christmasland aside, the multiple discard spells should slow down my opponent enough to get my deck's engine running. Win condition is attacking with zombies.
Master of the Feast is generally a joke, for good reason, but he's much better with Whispering Madness. I'll probably get black mana during my combat phase, so I've leaned towards including instants to take advantage of that. As for the sideboard, Vile Rebirth, Negate, and Heros' downfall seem self-explanatory. Crypt Incursion is intended to help stall against aggro. Tormod's Crypt fends off the graveyard decks I'd be feeding.
So, there are a few things I'm wondering:
Should anything in the maybeboard be added, or anything in the sideboard be in the maindeck?
In particular, what do people think of Master of the Feast? Is my explanation above just wishful thinking? IMO, the best alternative to him is Herald of Torment, but maybe there's something I'm missing.
How does this basic idea look? People have been speculating wildly about Waste Not. I don't think it's going to break the format, but it will probably see Standard play in decent decks. Will any of those decks look like this?
Is 20 land too low? If so, what should I cut?
What do I do about a control deck? Right now my only plan is a single copy of Elixir of Immortality, to mill them out and not me, but that's a very, very desperate plan.
