I wanted to base a deck on Voice of Resurgence + Gift of Immortality, so I came up with this, and after some amount of playtesting, all the pieces eventually fell into place. There may be some cards I am missing that would work well, or certain strategies that I need to have a better sideboard against, but the deck is new and so far has seemed to be fairly effective in the current meta. The main win condition of the deck is Voice of Resurgence + Gift of Immortality + Cartel Aristocrat or Varolz, the Scar-Striped. Obviously this is easy to pick apart, so I filled the deck out with high value cards that synergize well with the gameplan. Obzedat, Ghost Council is a good alternate win condition, and with Whip of Erebos it never goes away. Thw whip is in the deck to have a massive hoser card for mono-red decks, because with all my little creatures, lifelink becomes very relevant. Precinct Captain can take over a game on turn two on his own, in addition to making my elementals bigger, and more creatures for sac-outlet food. Soldier of the Pantheon and Tormented Hero are in here to make the deck a little faster and round out the curve so I'm not always doing nothing on turns 1 and 2. Reaper of the Wilds is an excellent mid-game bomb that is difficult to remove, and allows me to dig extremely hard for combo pieces due to my creatures constantly dying twice. I think Xathrid Necromancer is more or less self-explanatory. Originally, my only non-creature spells were the 4 Gift of Immortality and the 1 Whip of Erebos, but after some tinkering, I decided that 4 Hero's Downfall is necessary because I die to any deck that plays Ghor-Clan Rampager .
