WB Control Finished

Modern*

One of my many attempts to perfect WB control as a modern archetype. The "Creatures" Sorin, Lord of Innistrad- The main 4 mana bitterblossom card of the deck. His main ability here is the +1 to create lifelik vamps to mitigate bitterblossom's cost, He also allows for some really easy ending games with his emblems and his -6 ability to destroy and take control of 3 things. Elspeth, Knight-Errant- She's mostly in here for the buff at a +1, But can serve to further overwhelm the opponent with tokens, her -8 isn't too bad either. Bitterblossom- This deck's main effect, The whole point of this deck is to be able to out grind an opponent with having the ability to gain 1-3 tokens every turn from cards like these and the 4 mana versions, This card allows for extremely easy grindgame pushes, Allowing to conserve removal for only what you need it for. Removal Suite. Path to Exile- This card's power level in modern as a removal spell is almost equal to Swords to Plowshares in legacy. This card's drawback is not really relevant to this deck, as the removal suite can take out most threats relevant in the format. Doom Blade- Serves a similar role to Path in that it takes care of threats, and can serve as a tarmogoyf out. Thoughtseize- Not really a removal spell, but it can do good things for this deck, Because this deck runs more than enough ways to out creatures, But you just need that initial way to out possible creatures that you can't take care of initially. Hero's Downfall- A 1-of in this deck, Since most problems are creatures, But there is still a couple walkers running around, and serves as a game 1 out to that. Otherwise it's an overpriced doom blade. Blow-outs. White Sun's Zenith- A resolved copy of this card is basically an endgame against any opponent who is not prepared to deal with the massive boards this card may produce, and will produce later on in the game. Lingering Souls- The fact that tokens fly makes this card insane for the deck, Due to the sorin emblems stacking, and elspeth buffing them up, This card can get out of hand rather quickly for an opponent. The Sideboard. Black Sun's Zenith- This card is a blowout agains weenie based aggro strategies, and it doesn't provide a problem for you due to the tokens being highly expendable, Due to all the Bitterblossom effects this deck has. Orzhov Charm- Additional removal spell that takes care of everything you need it to, and more. Abzan Advantage- This card serves as enchantment removal, As well as having the ability to buff up a flier, and deal rather large amounts of damage. Ethersworn Canonist- This card can slow down the game to a comfortable pace for the deck to play in during games 2 and 3. Tidehollow Sculler- Basic out to opponent's hand and can help in combo matches.
