A white weenies deck with Journey into Nyx. Mana Confluence really opens up the deck for some interesting strategies..before it had to choose between Boros Charm and Xathrid Necromancer, but now...why not both?

This deck is structured off of Mono-Blue Devotion: 8 Devotion giving cards at each CMC, the problem is that getting multiples of Athreos, God of Passage is pretty difficult to deal with, and unlike Thassa, God of the Sea, you can't scry away any subsequent draws of Athreos, so I put him down to a 3 of. Boros Reckoner gives 3 devotion to both Athreos and Iroas, God of Victory so it was an auto-include...the plus is that it's a house on defense, offense, and against burn.

This also includes an Aristocracts-like combo if you get Cartel Aristocrat , Athreos, God of Passage, and Xathrid Necromancer on the board. With this combo your 1 drops become beaters, extra zombies, and either a burn spell/card advantage.

There are 10 cards in the main board that directly combat Supreme Verdict: Xathrid, Athreos and Boros Charm...Athreos and Xathrid even combat Drown in Sorrow.

In the mid-game, Iroas, God of Victory lets you get your beaters through and protects their offense, while Boros Charm can put that last bit of burn damage through.

I'm still trying to decide whether the Cartel, Xathrid, Athreos combo is good enough that I should still include Xathrid Necromancer..While perfect against board wipes and for the combo, it only provides 1 devotion to Athreos and no devotion to Iroas. It's possible that a 3CMC creature that provides 2 devotion to both Athreos and Iroas might be better, that's why I have Brimaz, King of Oreskos in the maybeboard.

T1: Soldier of the Pantheon T2: Precinct Captain -> 2 damage totalT3: Athreos, God of Passage -> 6 damage totalT4: Cartel Aristocrat -> 16 damage total, Boros Charm to the face

That's a common occurrence in a goldfish situation.

Unlike Mono-Blue Devotion there is no 4 drop house like Master of Waves. Any suggestions on a good 4 drop? Potentially, Mogis, God of Slaughter. It fits the premise of getting creatures through attacking, while also burning them out. I also realized if you have Athreos, Iroas, Mogis, and a Boros Reckoner out, all 3 are activated.
