Ended up splitting to go 3-0-1 for the day. Somehow I ended up second, but in my 3 packs I got Hellkite Tyrant, Boros Reckoner, and my last Sacred Foundry I needed along with a promo Farseek for my first time playing it; the deck performed very well.
Round 1 (0-0) (2-1) American Midrange
Remember your triggers...
Played against a friend of mine in round 1. I won the first game easily because of Terminus on Geist of Saint Traft and Boros Reckoner.
Game 2 he flooded and I was screwed, so the game dragged on for quite a while. My Blind Obedience gave me enough time to answer threats at sorcery speed. Towards the end of that match I could have extorted two different times, but I forgot...at 8 life take two Boros Charm to the face....REMEMBER YOUR TRIGGERS
Game 3 was back and forth. I Slaughter Games his Geist then he drops a Thundermaw Hellkite with no worry. Time is a called and all I have is an Olivia Voldaren which turn 3 of 5 is use to ping the dragon and steal it on his turn...GG winning on turn 5.
Round 2 (1-0) (2-0) American Midrange
Virtually identical lists with thundermaw, reckoner, geist, and restos
Game 1 was no contest at all just good ole fashioned drubbing.
Game 2 Slaughter Games on Geist of Saint Traft with Blind Obedience out equals another beatdown this time with Obzedat, Ghost Council.
Round 3 (2-0) (2-0) UB Mill
This guy was just coming back into magic, but had an interesting mill deck. It really sucks when money is the reason people do well instead of skill, but it is just the nature of the game.
Game 1 he was mana screwed completely and I just won with Obzedat.
Game 2 he had the nuts. He had a Consuming Aberration which ended up being copied by Stolen Identity wait wut...I had a Sorin, Lord of Innistrad and Olivia Voldaren out and chumped his aberrations with Lingering Souls and Sorin's vampire. I ended up using Sorin's ult which completely sealed the game and stole his other creature with Olivia just barely squeezing out with the win.
Round 4 (3-0) Boros Aggro
He asked if I wanted to split, so I was like sure. Good thing too! ^_^
We still ended up playing for fun not sideboarding or anything.
Game 1 His deck had a complete god hand. Turn 1 Pillar of Flame, turn 2 Ash Zealot, turn 3 Boros Reckoner, turn 4 Hellrider, turn 5 2 more Ash Zealot...just ridiculous. I had Terminus on turn 6 and asked him if he had a Searing Spear revealed it GG. Almost stabilized.
Game 2 Was another nut hand this time with a turn 1 Stonewright and a Hellrider did most of the work along with another reckoner...I terminus at 5 life and he triple Pillar of Flame me....WUT
Game 3 we are just playing until I won and I easily won this one because he had a normal hand and I took control of the game.
MVPS:
Blind Obedience such a good card, hoses aggro and crushes Thundermaw Hellkite
Obzedat, Ghost Council Ghost Dad is just brutal for anyone without instant speed removal.
Aurelia, the Warleader she won me every game I resolved her easily. Whether with souls or Olivia just a complete beat down for 6 mana.
Oblivion Ring/Dreadborethese sorcery speed removal spells kept the board in a very manageable state most of the games.
Olivia Voldaren she just is the complete package in a card. She kills things you don't want to face or steals them. A great blocker that could trade up to 2 toughness higher up with 2 mana.
Really virtually every card was amazing except maybe Aurelia's Fury which was played awkwardly and sometime hilariously like preventing them from casting Liliana of the Veil for 1 turn trololo.
I still want to tweak the main and sideboard. I feel this deck is beat handily by aggro pre-sideboard and just crushes most midrange. The one card this deck can bend over to is Aurelia, the Warleader I see her as a 20+ dollar card just based on the impact she had.
