Elf deck.
Pretty self explanatory, right? Well, just in case, here goes:
When I saw Beastcaller Savant spoiled, I mostly read about his potential for Allies. I thought he fit well into the whole Elves thing people had mentioned in Origins. Alongside
Gnarlroot Trapper
(our current 1 drop dork sigh) we can get some good mana going early.
So first we get a couple of those dudes out. Then, as elves do, we invite all our closest friends, our immediate family, our cousins, the neighbor, and even those 1/1 Elf Warrior Tokens from across the railroad tracks that our parents told us to never hang around with. Once everyone's here, we head for our opponent's side of the board.
Our finishers here are the Dwynen, Gilt-Leaf Daen and
Tajuru Warcaller
who will buff our guys up enough that we can end the game quickly. The Warcaller even makes a late game Beastcaller Savant draw a welcome sight.
Don't feel like just swinging for lethal? That is what Shaman of the Pack is for. Just drop him on a full board from the hand or with our good friend Collected Company.
Sometimes you just gotta dig deeper to get those elves out. That's where Elvish Visionary comes into play. Love that etb. Or, we got Sylvan Messenger letting all her elf friends know there's some long, Bugle-looking snacks at the party, and that they should definitely come. That should do the trick.
Lastly, we have our noncreature spells. Foul-Tongue Shriek lets us maximize damage with a full board. Might of the Masses lets us maximize damage with a full board. And Bone Splinters lets us maxi... nope. My bad. That one lets us sacrifice our less important dudes for the Greater Good (The Greater Good).
This is hopefully the deck I get back into standard with. It's budget friendly, seems to be fairly effective in my limited play testing on here, and just pretty fun. I appreciate any advice/critiques anyone checking this out may have. Let me know how I can make this better and possibly have some respectable showings at a FNM level. The sideboard is also very much under construction. I don't currently know what I'll play against or anything, so just throwing a few things in there in the short term.
Thanks for taking a look!
