Since MH3 and some bans and unbans, elves in in a much better position, with the new tech like Wirewood Symbiote Eladamri, Korvecdal and Priest of Titania there's many more ways to ramp and dig for wincons. Eladamri, Korvecdal + Leaf-Crowned Visionary
acts as a pseudo Glimpse of Nature and with those on the board and ways to ramp, like priest or nettles, you can easily dug through the deck for Craterhoof Behemoth Ezuri, Renegade Leader or Shaman of the Pack to finish out the game.
Green Sun's Zenith has been an amazing addition as well, grabs Grist, the Hunger Tide for creature removal, or any combo pieces.
The Dream: as said above, we want eladamri and lcv on the battlefield order to dig through our deck. But, you need mana to do this. This is why Nettle Sentinel + Heritage Druid is also key in this build, yes Priest of Titania is amazing if you have elves in play; but priest gets sniped A LOT. I usually don't count on having priest for this reason. If it sticks, game over obviously (thanks to Wirewood Symbiote and Quirion Ranger for additional activations), if it doesn't, we're not dead in the water by any means, we're just tapping more creatures that untap themselves when you cast more elves or spells ( Nettle Sentinel ). Once we're online our next step is to absolutely flood the board, to not only create pressure, but to dig for a wincon. What are our wincons? Ezuri, Renegade Leader is the old standby. Not only is it protection with their regeneration ability, but they also pump our dorks and give them trample (the best mechanic in MTG). But this isn't our only winner, we of course have Craterhoof Behemoth . The best boy, once they're down either through massive amounts of mana generated or with eladamri's ability, the game is over. +×/+× and trample has no awnser, unless it's countered, you have absolutely won the game. As a final plan C we have Shaman of the Pack its nice for a sneaky Chord of Calling or Green Sun's Zenith target and with wirewood picking it up and playing it a second time isn't too hard, as long as the black mana is there.
All in all this deck has consistently popped off for me, and sometimes as early as t3 with the perfect hand, and this deck as it's currently set up plays very close to old glimpse elves decks from legacy, hence the "we have glimpse at home" title of this decklist.
Flex slots: so elves has the option to flex some pieces out for specific Game 1 silver bullets (think Collector Ouphe, Keen-Eyed Curator, Scavenging Ooze, or Endurance for example). But keep in mind this dilutes the combo, eladamri isn't worried about creature type, but LCV wants to see elves, so if you hit a land or a tutor after your non-elf creature, with no way to scry, shuffle, or draw, you're combo turn is over and I hope you got all you need. If you're going to go this route and add these silver bullets that GSZ or chord can grab, keep that in mind, and keep a fetch handy just in case.
If you have any questions, or ideas for the deck please don't hesitate to add a comment, I'm always looking for more ways to keep elves viable and competitive in every format I play!
