This is just a deck I threw together because I was intrigued by the idea of R/U humans.
Basically, you use your cheap humans much the same way you would aggro, or to stall.
When you play a
Traitorous Blood
, you gain control of opponent's creature and, -hopefully- have enough mana to either Ghostly Flicker it and any other permanent out to make the Traitor'd creature perma-yours, or Nephalia Smuggler it for the same effect.
Alternately, hold out for Zealous Conscripts and perma-steal opponent's permanent, assuming you have the mana.Or with the Conscripts already out, you could Smuggle it, then Flicker for perma-steal.
The Snapcaster Mage can effectively give you two uses for each Flicker or
Traitorous Blood
, and since the effect is ETB, you can Smuggle or Flicker it to trigger over and over.
Tandem Lookout and its bond, usually Invisible Stalker serve as a card draw engine.
I was showing my developing deck to some friends, and, after a while, one of them saw my deck and it's steal mechanics and... Well, he handed me an extra copy of
Beguiler of Wills
he had and dared me to include it in my deck. WHOA. After everyone telling me to use
Mind Control
, I get one for free, that's REUSABLE.
Thing is,
Beguiler of Wills
is weak and vulnerable on her own, plus her ability is difficult to use if you don't run a creature heavy deck.
BOOM! In goes
Elgaud Shieldmate
to give her protection from anything short of a complete wipe. And
Hysterical Blindness
considerably helps in perma-stealing opponent's monster. I mean... It lowers the amount of creatures you need by 4! CRAZY! It also helps when a strong creature is attacking and you need to weaken it.
Thatcher Revolt
also serves the double purpose of making taking control of a creature easier, summoning 3 creatures of your own on the spot.
Essentially, an aggro-ish Steal deck with a Human sub-theme. Still! I like the flavor. Humans banding together, with pretty much anything they can pull into their army, be it forced or willingly, to help in the final push against the Darkness.
Any thoughts, criticizms, or ideas on how to better it are welcome. :)
