A card's color identity is the sum of all colored mana symbols in its mana cost and text box (except in reminder text) as well as any color indicators and characteristic-defining abilities.

Rattleclaw Mystic's color identity is R/U/G . It can't be played in a deck that doesn't include all of those colors. You are correct, but I was speaking in a hypothetical sense if it was allowed. So yes I can't actually add it if I wanted to lol.

Maybe Courser of Kruphix for more life? Not sure if Sylvan Caryatid fits here, mostly a standard player, but I think it might.

Need to stop making so many posts :P

Like the slash-and-burn technique reference in description. I need more stuff like that in my decks...

Life gain is meh in edh, unless you plan to abuse it some how. I'm a black player at heart, so going down to 1 life is still comfort zone for me. I've been known to use sylvan library to the point where I've taken 8 dmg 3 turns in a row, because card advantage is OP as fuck.

Sylvan on the other hand, was originally in here, and I thought about adding it back in... just not sure. 1 drops are to important to lose for it. My 2 drop slot is solid (albeit funky). I could maybe look at my 3 drop slot. That being said I'm still not sure about Bpod. I might remove it, and if I do, I will most likely addAzusa or Yeva, Nature's Herald

Don't worry you can post as much as you want idc, I like discussion. Also what kind of decks? Edh or standard that you want to add more of this kinda of stuff in your decks?

I'd add Azusa before I added Courser. Yet... Why not both? Also, yes, B-Pod doesn't seem great.

(Tranquil Thicket is actually strictly better than Slippery Karst, by the way. xD)

If the opponent happens to have an Avacyn, Angel of Hope, a nice way to get around destruction would be the Mycosynth Lattice + Titania's Song combo with a Titania on the battlefield. And don't get me started if you had Faith's Reward or Second Sunrise in hand.

Talk about DAAAMMNNNN!!!!!

Secluded Steppe too. Crap, I'm bad at life.

Id suggest running Wasteland and Life from the Loam. When combined with Strip mine and/or fetches, this gives you a reusable land destruction/ramp engine. Earthcraft can make it so that MLD has little to no effect on you as long as you have some creatures in play and a basic land. Darksteel Garrison can help mitigate your MLD and give a little buff at the same time.

I had those originally in there cause ooh cool draw, but they were to slow, and I needed the extra slots for tutorable lands. I also already quite a bit, this deck is kinda like an enchantress but not exactly lol. It's more like creaturentress? So I opted for the 2 basics over those. They also come into play tapped, which in this kind of deck is a no-no.

Standard, I really wanna play EDH and am thinking about taht Mikaues, Extreme Sub Budget deck on the site.

May 22, 2015 7:27 p.m.

SirFowler

Adding a 2 card combo that has no synergy with this deck other than getting around situational problems isn't worth. I'd rather draw heavily into path or swords.

That being said Second Sunrise is not something this deck wants, but Faith's Reward could seem ok. I'll have to think about that one.

Thanks for the suggestions and your time to look over the deck

Sup, and yeah wasteland eventually needs to make it's way into there. Just gotta get it still lol. It did decrease in price recently so I've been thinking about it.

Life from the Loam is one of those cards I love to see, but I hate to build around. I always feel so many people play it wrong, and I much rather see it in a karador deck, or a something of that matter. It's not a bad fit in here, I have a lot of draw effects, but not really much in the way of perm recovery. Sun titan, E.witness, and crucible atm, and I guess P.Command. If I get my big threats in there though, and I don't have any way to get into play soon enough, I screw myself hard.

Earthcraft - I have one, and I thought about using it in here. It doesn't hurt to have it, but I'm still not sure where I want remove something for it atm. I'm still trying to fit Azusa in here as well, and possibly yeva. Let me get your opinion on that.

Darksteel Garrison lol that card is cute, I remember it well. Idk it seems a little sluggish, but lawl I do love me some nostalgia! Lol I'll look into it cause it's such a funny card, when you Armageddon and have that on a land like Gaea's Cradle. People get really salty fast.

What about Mistveil Plains? It can help get the cards back that you may need. Wheel of Sun and Moon is also nice to have. Idk, I think I'm running out of ideas.

May 22, 2015 7:49 p.m.

Magicrafter Yeah EDH is fun as shit, I like the format, and I take it a bit more competitively. That being said, not everyone has to, and you should enjoy it the way you want.

That being said, play what you want to play, but don't play things that trade 1 for 1 unless you play french commander. Cards good in standard aren't really that good for commander. If it's a swords or path to exile, or vindicate or something, that's fine though. YOu need them here and there.

May 22, 2015 7:54 p.m.

SirFowler

... holy shit I forgot mistveil plains existed...ha... too good.

Sun and Moon is one of those double edged swords. Somethings I don't want to go in my deck will. It's not a may effect, so it has to happen. That being said I'll think about it, but mistveil will be going in lol ha can't believe I forgot that

What are your thoughts on Harrow, Explore, and Summer Bloom? Would adding those be too much land acceleration or would it help more?

And let's not forget about the absolutely amazing Burgeoning. Mana mana mana....

May 22, 2015 8:34 p.m.

I play 35 lands, and most my mana ramp is from my general, the others can come from a few things here and there as well. They don't do much for me. I'd rather harrow than explore or summer bloom. Burgeoning is not that great in this deck. I'm not an enchantress deck that can trips for days, and needs to unload my lands like that.

That being said I have enough ramp in the deck. Summer bloom would be ok, after I Armageddon the board, and have out crucible but still, I'm good on ramp.

Alrighty then :)

My last 2 suggestions would be Sylvan Caryatid over Quirion Elves/Boreal Druid and Overwhelming Stampede over Overrun.

That's pretty much all from me. And if it isn't, then I'm sorry. I just like to help as much as I can. :D

Temur Sabertooth will let you repeatedly cast creatures to activate your generals ability. His ability also gives evasion to your creatures from targeted removal, and indestructible on a 4/3 body isn't anything to scoff at. Also repeated ETB effects. Terastodon? Sun Titan? Soul of the Harvest? You have a lot of effects like that.

Cultivate and Kodama's Reach let you get one land to your hand and one to the field. Accelerates your mana curve.

Rampant Growth brings a basic to the field for two mana.

ARE YOU READY FOR THIS!

No, well, I'll go ahead and continue anyway. Well, I saw the forum you made asking for help.. So, my good person (because I don't know you gender) these are some possible, potential, maybe, plausible, perhaps, could be additions to le deck! Oh, and by the way, I wouldn't suggest running all of these cards, I just like to give people a wide berth of options to choose from. Oh, and also no that I don't think any of these cards are necessarily essential to the deck. :)

Good luck with all future builds, playing magic, and have fun!

P.S.- I'm commenting, and upvoting because I love the deck, but I don't want entered into the contests. Let the others have the awards, thanks anyway though. :)

Oh, and if only the color rules for EDH would allow me to suggest Deus of Calamity. :(
