Have you ever wanted to play a deck that makes you feel as awesome as it is to be an American. Well this is the deck for you and trust me when I say I've taken consideration into every card I put in here to make sure that it's as representative as picking a fight with America as it can be.
So of course this deck being America it's colors are R/W/U if you added any other colors then your either a commie or a terrorist but clearly aren't American enough. So you might be asking well what makes this deck American. Well let's ask a simple question what happens when you mess with America?
Answer you get destroyed.
So this deck is a combo deck so let's just explain how it looks more American as we go:
A strong card in this deck is Isochron Scepter I'll say right now that you don't need it to win but it really helps to achieve total lockdown seeing as a lot of your deck is pretty much 2 drop or less instant cards that can get infinite reusability with it. Another important and necessary thing to note is that you still cast the spell you copy with Isochron which comes into point later with some of the creatures you employ.
Before we bash Isochron for spot remover and counter bait let's keep in mind that spot remover hurts no matter what it's used on and if isochron is countered you still get to keep the card you were going to imprint on it so no real harm done there except you wasted some mana which you were gonna do to play that card anyway.
Your tools of liberty are Silence, Cyclonic Rift, Memory Lapse, Swords to Plowshares and Remand. With these weapons the number of opponents that can stand toe to toe against your attrition will quickly diminish.
The best combo you can drop is hands down gonna be Isochron Scepter + Silence
it is your most basic and powerful tactic. At your opponents upkeep use this to lock them down permanently from playing cards on their turn; if they don't have instant or flash cards to play you win right after you drop this combo as their nothing they can really do to escape the lockdown.
Cyclonic Rift and Swords to Plowshares serve similar roles and that is to get things off the field that you don't want to see or to clear out anything your opponent got out early; Put strictly America doesn't take your crap and will send it right back to you with cheers.
Similarly Memory Lapse and Remand serve the same purpose as well and that is to be as exceedingly annoying to your opponent as possible and delay or outright deny any attempts they would make to get a comeback. If you Isochron Scepter + Memory Lapse
you can potentially entirely deny your opponent a draw phase as well as countering their card at the very least this often stalls them for a couple of turns as they want to draw out their cards and increase their mana pool to play more than 1 card which is gonna get countered back to the top of their deck anyway.
Preordain and Brainstorm are your supply keepers. They exist for the soul purpose of keeping your hand from dwindling or being filled with cards that you don't want.
With your tools of liberty ready you now need powerful soldiers who can carry out your will and I have prepared for you the most devoted and capable individuals we could find.
The key members of your forces are Young Pyromancer, Monastery Mentor and Guttersnipe and your soldiers of fortune are Talrand, Kira, and Grand Abolisher.
Young Pyromancer, Talrand and Monastery essentially serve the same purpose and that is to build your army for nothing more than just "casting" your stall and lockdown.
Guttersnipe is similar in that he deals damage to every opponent for nothing more than just "casting" your stall and lockdown.
Kira is a defensive measure to make extra sure you keep your key members safe in case somehow, someway, something slips through your primary defenses.
Grand Abolisher is almost necessary so that way you don't have to have a second Isochron Scepter + Silence
to keep your opponent locked out of your turn.
The sideboard exist to adjust your numbers and cards so that you can have more of what you need and less of what you don't need for instance swords to plowshares is useless against non-creature based decks. Also a special mention goes to Lightning Bolt I've had mixed success with the card which is why I personally don't use it but it can be amazing in this deck.
