MASSACERINLLAMA Hi! It's me again, I finally got (most) of the cards for the deck and just came back from my FNM! 4-1!!!
First of all, some budget options I made.
- I had two Goblin Rabblemasters and two Minotaur Skullcleavers
- Did the Crater's Claws option (WAY better than Stormbreath Dragon!!! you'll see why)
- and had only one Mana Confluence and two Rugged Highlands
But hey, you gotta do what you gotta do. Anyways, here's how it went, thanks again couldn't have done it without you!
Round 1 vs. WB Control (2-0)
Game 1: Almost embarrassing for my opponent, gave me the finger on turn 3 after my perfect curve from mysic, to rabblemaster, to shaman.
Game 2: Sided in more removal, (yes, I'm serious) and instead of playing two removal spells to kill my boon satyr and skullcleaver, he prematurely played Ugin just to kill the cleaver, which later got pissed as I crater claws-ed him... this is standard.
Round 2 vs. RW Midrange (1-2)
Game 1: Monastery mentor...
Game 2: Rabble? ... Strike it ... Rabble? ... Strike it ... <- x2. This is standard. ... Rabble? ... Chain it. ... Xenagos? ... I scoop.
Game 3: Same thing as above but he stiked Xenagos and finished like game 1.
Round 3 vs. Jeskai Burn (2-1)
Please note I was sitting next to my game one opponent... it went like this...
Me: Hey! How'd you do?
Him: Sweapt and done, you?
Me: Lost...
Him: Wait... you LOST?!?!?
Game 1: Stormbreathe, combat tricks, rabblemasters (both sides), Seekers... game 2?
Game 2: To my advantage, I think he sided out losts of his creatures to be more in control. That way, I was able to sqeeze out what I could and win the game through a 30 min game.
Game 3: Thinking I lost, I look at the board and think he's at nine and I have a xenagos, a satyr, two mystics, five lands and a crater's claws in hand... wait...
Round 4 vs. Mono Blue Robots (2-1)
Game 1: WTF!!! FLYING SCISSORS?!?!
Game 2: He was depressed to find out his deck was easily sideboardable against...
Game 3: He sided in singing bellstrikes and was able to tap down my pheonix's but wasn't enough to see I had lots of land up and just gently placed down my crater's claws... he took the slip and signed it for me...
Round 5 vs. ... Split
I was tired, split was best option. Probably abzahn.
So that's how it ended. To be surprise, the budget options didn't hinder me too much! I do have to say this is a pretty easy deck to play, but you will need to think about your moves every now and then, so don't get too excited about getting "free wins". I'm really happy I have a functioning standard deck now, and I wish everyone luck if they want to play this deck!!!
