Is there a reason why you're not playing Mana Drain maindeck over Counterspell? It is pretty much strictly better than that card, and I'd imagine it's better than most of your other situational counterspells (ie. Dispel, Remand)

Oh god I need a Mana Drain so bad now. I agree with Will if you can get one use it! So good.

Fixed. Long story short I had it in side and forgot to move it over

For your Omniscience, the best way to get it out at only is Show and Tell. Does it allow others to fetch things? Yes, but for having Omniscience out on the field, you could then just drop your hand and watch your opponents scramble to deal with you casting counters and threats for free. Omniscience into Avacyn = a very powerful board position turn 1, 2, or even 3.

@lethalitycomplex: unless of course they drop Acidic Slime Angel of Despair or Ashen Rider for starters then your omniscience is gone and they get a free creature... always a downfall to show and tell. Academy Rector is one of the best ways to get Omniscience out quickly as most players don't generally waste a removal on a 1/2 creature regardless of what it does unless they know your deck.

@Legend06: Then it would really depend on the meta on which the deck is being played. If people know the combo, then yeah, sure, Show and Tell would be a bad idea and Academy Rector would be better. Maybe sideboard one and run the other depending on the other decks at the table? As for Ashen Rider though, does that see play? 8 for a 5/5 flier with ETB exile a permanent seems just a bit expensive. I suppose in Esper though when you have Deadeye Navigator and it's abusable...

Is your commander more for the colors now or for his abilities? Just wondering.

@lethalitycomplex: hmm that is true and of course I really only have experience with my Local store where that does see play. as for Ashen Rider yes it sees alot of play in my area. My own Superfriends deck runs it for fun

I'm an Arbiter player myself. I just crossed the $500 line and was proud of myself, as every dollar spent makes everyone hate me. I opened this and my jaw literally dropped. You are what I aspire to be and more.

Your deck seems really powerful! Just +1'ed! Here are some of my suggestions:

  • I can see Swords to Plowshares, but no Path to Exile, and in my opinion it is important to have a lot of removal in an EDH deck to take care of pesky creatures.

  • I see Mirror-Sigil Sergeant, and I think Paradox Haze would do great with it, and you could abuse upkeep effects if you have any others.

  • I don't know about the ''competitivity'' of the card, but Dovescape would be fun, in my opinion, to counter spells. Add Guile also for an awesome combo and another win condition.

I am really not sure if my suggestions are competitive, because I do not play competitive in those colors, but the deck seems strong as it is right now. Let me know what you think!

August 9, 2015 3:50 p.m.

My problem with path is that it gives opponents land, which can defeat the purpose of my commander. Scape is fun but it hurts me a lot, paradox haze is good, but I do not have many upkeep effects, so many times it will be a dead draw. I agree I need more removal, I just want to try to figure out what else to use, though for now I might have to run path. thank you for the suggestions!

I was just wondering, did you ever tried Venser, the Sojourner? I found some great intearctions between him and some cards already in your deck:

  • Exile Ensnaring Bridge to be able to attack with your creatures, then it is going to come back at end of turn and prevent your opponents from attacking.

  • Strange idea, but bounce your temple scry lands to be able to scry 1 another time!

  • Exile Mana Vault to untap it for free!

  • Exile Iona, Shield of Emeria to be able to select another color (useful in multiplayer if another player becomes more dangerous, or just to play politics and be ''fair'' with everyone).

  • Exile other planeswalkers to restart their loyalty counters if they are dangerously lowered!

  • Get an extra use out of Maze of Ith!!!

  • Reuse cards with tap effects! (Sensei's Divining Top, Scroll Rack)...

How does it sounds?

August 9, 2015 4:06 p.m.

I can't reuse diving top XD, and yeah, I had him here for a while. Problem is he just didn't quite seem to do it for me and only drew more hate my way, which was a problem. Bridge gets destroyed and I can fill up my hand if i need to, can't reuse maze (unless I want to untap MY attacking creatures), the only interaction it seems he exclusively helps with is the scry land, as I can bounce Iona.

very nice and very evil ;) +1

i dont really have much to add, this looks very solid! if you need more stuff to slow every 1 down till you are ready to strike then maybe Silent Arbiter, Arena of the Ancients, Defense Grid, Ward of Bones but i dont really think you need more of that. Temporal Aperture works well with those high cmc cards but again, not really needed imo.
