HungryWampa Teeka's Dragon isn't legal in modern. And as I said in the description above, while Utvara Hellkite is good, it's not what I'm doing. I want my dragons to encorporate board control. And I like all my cards to have synergy.

Damn, me and my friend Kyaale were going to make a Skyrim deck but with all five colors and have Avenging Arrow in it for the arrow in the knee thing but awesome deck man! +1

I agree with OpenFire here. Mizzium Mortars seems more redundant than synergistic here. I'd at least test out Lightning Bolt or Anger of the Gods . Cool deck regardless.

xlebec I have tried Lightning Bolt and the deck works better with Mizzium Mortars . There's a lot more things with 4 toughness than 3 toughness that I'm worried are going to kill me before I get a dragon. And if for some reason I am having trouble getting a dragon out or am playing some elf deck or something of the same nature, I can overload it. I have tried it, I was for Lightning Bolt at one point. Mizzium Mortars .
Think of the weaknesses this deck has. Swarm and decks that get a small guy fast to beat me down(slumbering dragon wouldn't help there). Mizzium Mortars takes care of bigger guys alone and destroys swarm. I also need to make sure that the skies are clear so I can get through. A lot of popular flyers are sturdy.
The only advantage Lightning Bolt has is it can hit a player, but when there's nothing on the board I don't have to burn.
Anger of the Gods would be an automatic in if it didn't kill my ramp. I can't do anything without my ramp. It's very important in this deck.

rhyptherock lol, I carry arcane enchanter in my pocket at all times. I keep it next to my portable forge and grinding stone.

Scourges first activated ability kills your rampers, and the 2nd ability kills your other dragons...both things im assuming you dont want to happen since youve said so; perhaps balefire dragon better? Stormbreath dragon in sb against control as well?

Bsaf by the time I get to use Scourge of Kher Ridges I don't have to worry about my ramp, I probably already have the game. I actually am thinking of taking hin out though. Balefire Dragon is better, that's why I'm playing more of him.
I have thought about Stormbreath Dragon in the sideboard. Just haven't done it yet. It will happen though.

Also, Bsaf, I don't have to use Scourge of Kher Ridges ' ability. If I play him he still functions as a creatures. All Anger of the Gods does it kill my ramp. His ability is more of a security.

kleinar it's a 3 mana combo(that I pay once) that gives me four mana so I have at least 7 mana on turn 3 to play a dragon. It's a tempo thing.
It's a combo that made Arbor Elf so big.
I have Birds of Paradise for a one drop any mana thing.
Not to seem arrogant or ignorant, but when i'm swinging for 5 and unblockable on turn 3 or 6 on turn 4 with any other creature, I don't really need exalted.

When I was first introduced into Magic, it was to casual play with theme-based decks. At the time Season 2 of Game of Thrones was starting, and being an avid Charizard fan I decided my first deck would be dragons as well!
This is what I came up with: Dance with Dragons

Haha yeah, Tspyrom. I assume you saw that above either in the comments or description?
For one more mana it has a lot more of an upside in a lot quicker time frame. Besides, I really do need more red than green in this deck. I just run more forest than mountains because of the low costing mana ramps. Arbor Elf and Birds of Paradise take care of any green I need.

_Xenagos_ You're not making any sense at all. First of all you have to start with another 1 mana, mana dork and then t 2 you have to have Voyaging Satyr and Utopia Sprawl and even if you have that "combo" what do you have left on your hand. if you are on the play, then you have 4 cards in your hand( if you didn't mulligan) and even if you all that you still need to have somthing relavant in your hand and if you do. so what. in the modern meta today you are most likely to be against a twin deck and they could just counter your game winning dragon or they just combo you out turn 4. or you are against any aggro deck and you lose so hard against them
