Preface: I would love any comments and suggestions possible. I made this deck with nearly every other Necrotic Ooze deck on the Internet in mind, but obviously I've changed it so much that it is now a completely unique and new variant of the build, mostly just because I love cards like Postmortem Lunge in this deck. Also, would anyone care to discuss the usefulness of Visions of Beyond and Laboratory Maniac (As a potential 1 of to be post mortemed or drawn into?)? I see that they are good, but I can't put this deck together until I get home today, or perhaps not even until Friday. I don't have too many creatures, so how likely is it that Visions of Beyond will be under its good activation? Would Lab Maniac ever win a game? Hopefully I'll be able to test against Wolf Run Ramp, Illusions and Solar Flare, although I imagine the latter to be a pretty poor matchup. By the way, Ghost Quarter? Surgical Extraction? my metagame will unfortunately likely be mostly control with a few aggro decks and maybe one wolf run or something.
So, with Necrotic Ooze combo (I'll explain it to anyone who doesn't know in a few) on the rise, I've decided to test it out myself before it sees play at my FNM. I don't think it will ever see top 8 in a serious tournament but it's fun and can steal games.
The combo is... Firstly, Civilized Scholar allows one to draw and discard as many cards as one wants with Necrotic Ooze, as if the Scholar is in your graveyard, your Ooze can tap, you draw and discard a creature card, and then untap without transforming because Necrotic Ooze can't transform.
The next part is: Having Bloodline Keeper and GrimGrin in your graveyard means you can infinitely tap to create a creature and then untap with grimgrin's ability until Necrotic Ooze has whatever power and toughness you desire.
EDIT: Wish I were running Suture something so I can call it "Welcome to the Suture". I'm coining that name now lol, for when some weird combo deck eventually gets made.
