Maybeboard

Led by Tana, the Bloodsower and Reyhan, Last of the Abzan, this deck is about creating and nurturing massive creatures through the devour mechanic. I've always wanted to create a devour-focused deck in EDH, and though Prossh had once led the original deck with his small kobold worshipers, Tana and Reyhan have joyfully fit themselves into the deck. With each commander reinforcing the other, they create a synergy with devour that I was very happy to discover.

Tana is a token spawning machine, creating fodder to be exploited and devoured each time she hits an opponent. Alongside her blunt form of "evasion" through trample, buffing her through the use of +1/+1 counters greatly increases the amount of saprolings created, enabling for even larger creatures in the future.

Reyhan is also great for making sure that these large investments won't go to waste. It feels amazing when you drop a Thromok, the Insatiable when devouring even just 5 creatures to make a sizable 25/25. It feels far less amazing when it's on the receiving end of a Doom Blade. But thanks to Reyhan, those counters will stick on the battlefield through another creature. Landing all of those on Tana and swinging for even more fodder is a great way to show off that synergy!
