This deck was designed to be under 50 bucks. Currently on TCGPlayer it is around $42.56, and you can probably get it down to less with a bit of cart optimization.

The deck focuses on mass damage to creatures that can either be channeled into Stuffy Doll kills or making lots of insect tokens. And of course, you can always go smashing faces as well. This deck has a "Lands Matter" subtheme as well as a few elements of Insect Tribal and Token Sacrifices, so there are a few different ways to take this deck if you get bored and decide to deconstruct it. Xira Arien is mainly here because of colors and creature type (not to mention a baller kill with Strength of Cedars), and the deck doesn't lose too much if you want to use another commander with the same colors. But its fun to play around with Path of Ancestry and the card draw is nice. And if you're anything like me, you want to be packing the most unique commander in the room in any given game, so there's that.

I'm also having fun with the new Ixalan cards as well. Thaumatic Compass was a major reason I decided to include so many basic land interactions, and the new Enrage mechanic is perfect for this deck. Unfortunately, Ranging Raptors was the only one I was able to include in the deck, largely due to budget reasons, but I'd highly recommend Ripjaw Raptor if you have him.

I almost forgot that this deck existed, but I made a few updates and changes to it since the release of Dominaria. Below you'll find a list of cards and what prompted their inclusion. The budget of the deck did increase after the new additions, and is now sitting closer to $60 on TCGPlayer. It's still cheap (and I'd argue that the deck runs smoother), but it wouldn't be honest if I didn't point that out.

Jolrael, Empress of Beasts: Couples with our strong ramp package and turns them into a win condition. If you're really mean, you can animate your opponent's lands before you play Blasphemous Act or another sweeper to take them out of the game.

Mogg Maniac: A less strong Coalhauler Swine or Stuffy Doll, but its nice to have multiple combo pieces.

Multani, Yavimaya's Avatar: A strictly better Maro variant over Molimo, Maro-Sorcerer.

Volcano Hellion: Cheers to PleasantKenobi's Bees Combo List for bringing this card to my attention. One of the strongest combo pieces in our deck that can be easily recurred. Just make sure that you're not dropping your life total down too much.

Blackblade Reforged: Taking the place of Strength of Cedars, this card is a lot less easy to surprise opponents with, but the ability to reuse it with different creatures makes it infinitely more valuable to us.

Staff of Nin: Replaced Deathreap Ritual. Has more synergy with the rest of our deck, and gurantees us a card draw each turn.

Broken Bond: We have no shortage of lands to take advantage of the ramp that this card gives us, and it works great for popping T1 Sol Rings.

Descent of the Dragons: Another PleasantKenobi-inspired addition. Destroying all of our tokens and replacing them with flying dragons is amazing. Works well as a political tool as well.

Subterranean Tremors: One of the better Earthquake variants, this card also doubles as a mana-sink in the late game that puts a very powerful beater on board.

Druid's Call: Been going back and forth on this card for a while, but an effect that turns any of our creatures (including my favorite target Stuffy Doll) into token producers is too good to overlook.

The Eldest Reborn: Such a powerful, cheap card. The fact that this was printed at Uncommon still baffles me.
