Noncreature Spells
Seal of Fire
: So you’re probably wondering why I’m running this over
Lightning Bolt
, but in this particular deck seal is infinitely better than bolt for a couple of reasons.
1. Triggers revolt.
2. Can be returned with
Renegade Rallier
’s Revolt trigger after using it to trigger revolt.
3. Adds another card type in your deck to help
Tarmogoyf
.
4. Can be played early and then saved to use when you don’t have 1 mana.
5. You generally don’t need 3 damage when you have multiple 3 power creatures. It good for taking out small threats that don’t attack or block like
Young Pyromancer
, etc and putting in the last bit of damage or finishing off bigger creatures.
Atarka's Command
: Can be used as a devestating finisher by pumping your team after blocks and doing 3 to the face. Can also be helpful against Lifelink creatures and to ramp you early.
Path to Exile
: Versitle removal spell that can get rid of big threat or turn your creatures into lands if you’re getting mana screwed.
Collected Company
: Nice value engine that can surprise an opponent with blockers and is a two for one almost 90% of the time.
Creature Spells
Wild Nacatl
,
Kird Ape
,
Loam Lion
: Heavy early game attackers with a high enough toughness to survive most attacks. Usually force opponent removal spells which is totally fine because it allows your value cards to do their job.
Narnam Renegade
: Usually comes in as a 2/3 for 1 mana which is pretty sweet. I play this over
Experiment One
because the deathtouch makes it a viable draw late game.
Tarmogoyf
: Just simply a heavy hitter that’ll usually be a 3/4 at the very least. Forces a removal spell almost immediately or you’ll win.
Voice of Resurgence
: A really nice value card. It’s not a heavy beater but it syergizes with pretty much everything in your deck and can make control players really annoyed.
Loxodon Smiter
: A heavy hitter that dodged most burn, counters, and discard effects. Very reliable card that’s almost never a useless draw.
Renegade Rallier
: A completely underestimated value card that deserves to see play. Revolt is easy to trigger in this deck which means this card can sometimes be just as strong as
Bloodbraid Elf
. Cracking a
Seal of Fire
, then bringing it back and cracking it again feels so good. At the very least it can get you back a fetchland which is still better than nothing.
Bloodbraid Elf
: Just an absolute monster. Almost everything in the deck is cascadable and that plus the haste can win out of no where. Amazing top-deck card that can completely turn a game in your favor.
