@PooPlayer Grave Betrayal was in here before, but I found myself never playing it due to its high mana cost.

I agree, Grave Betrayal looks nice, but i feel its a little expensive to be used on a regular basis

I love seeing other Jarad decks. they are so much fun. Phyrexian Delver is a card I did not know about, adding it right now to my "wishlist" for my Jarad and his bin bag bitches deck. We have very similar decks and almost identical strategies, but with some different moving pieces.
+1 from me, always keep your graveyard full.

Very solid. I like the approach! +1 from me.
Have you thought about Wight of Precinct Six ? He's 2 to cast and can get quite large. With Jarad and 5 mana out, he can be a super cost effective damage source..
May 8, 2013 10:43 a.m.
@apt142 I haven't thought of Wight of Precinct Six , mainly because I'm more focused on my own graveyard rather than everyone else's. For example: Bonehoard gets the most out of my yard, and everyone else's is just gravy.
And thanks for the +1.

Hell's Caretaker - sack your thragtusk, then sack the token bringing it back, keep on doing it. Golgari Germination for all the tokens, Gravepurge because of rest in peace, Dash Hopes to counter something big, Crypt Incursion for some great life gain
worth considering
May 8, 2013 12:20 p.m.
Hell's Caretaker was in an early version of this list. It didn't perform for me. Also Thragtusk isn't in this list. And he probably won't be put in since he does nothing for the deck's main strategy.
Golgari Germination is the same deal. Didn't perform.
I'm not afraid of Rest in Peace . Gravepurge will kill my chances of drawing into removal for said Rest in Peace if I don't already have one in hand.
Dash Hopes is bad considering people will always pay the 5 life in a 40 life format. Same goes for anything that can be countered if a player pays life.
And Crypt Incursion has negative synergy with the rest of the deck. I want creatures in the graveyard. Whether it be my own or someone else's. The only time I'm pulling things from the graveyard is if it's going to my hand, the battlefield, or if I pick problem things from another player's graveyard with Nezumi Graverobber .

Illusionist's Bracers would double Jarad's damage. But, I'm not sure it is a worthy inclusion since you don't have a lot of other creatures with activated abilities.
May 8, 2013 1:36 p.m.
@apt142 Yup. As you say. Not enough creatures with activated abilities.

Hi there, I absolutely love the concept of the deck and Jarad in general, +1 from me.
Intuitivily, Dredge looks like a no-brainer mechanic in here but I'm wondering how people get back all their dredged creatures. As far as I can see you (like most Jarad decks over here) are playing 6-10 reanimation/regrowth effects - is that sufficient?
May 8, 2013 3:54 p.m.
It's sufficient enough for me since I also utilize the number of creatures in the graveyard with Svogthos, the Restless Tomb , Bonehoard and Jarad himself. It's the reason my ramp is all creature based.
What really gets those creatures back are Genesis and Volrath's Stronghold . Good repeatable creature recursion. There's also Golgari Thug , that works too.

Wait, so you're not running Murder ?? Do it, just for the flavor
May 8, 2013 4:18 p.m.
@Mewgle: Alright, thanks for the explanation. I've been a big fan of Coffin Queen in that department for some time now, maybe that's also something for you to concider.
May 9, 2013 2:04 a.m.
@Darkness1835 Nah, I'm not going to use Murder . The "murder" part is coming from the fact that I'm killing dudes (even if they are my own) and everyone else at the table.
@chilbi No problem. And I don't think I'll be using Coffin Queen here. I don't really like the risk of having something I'm reanimating be exiled. And also her being a 1/1 makes her really easy to remove.

Beacon of Unrest was in the deck before, but I took it out for (I can't remember) either Scapeshift or Altar of Dementia . I would definitely try it again if I can find space for it.
And for Barter in Blood , there are a few decks in my meta that use tokens and Sigarda, Host of Herons . so Barter may not be too useful for me in those situations, but I'll give it a try if I can find space.

Geth was here too in an earlier build. However, back then the deck was more centered around mill and reanimation. Since then, I've shifted the focus to mainly bank off of my own graveyard, which Geth doesn't contribute to.

Very nice deck! Couple of thuoghts: Regrowth is better than Treasured Find if you had to choose just 1. Yawgmoth's Will would be super fun resurrection! especially with a Heartless Summoning or Jet Medallion out or something. Also, I have really grown to love Ill-Gotten Gains as a means to cause opponents grief as well as retrieve stuff from your graveyard.
Just some ideas that came to mind though... +1!
May 11, 2013 5:34 p.m.
Yes. Regrowth is better than Treasured Find , but I don't have a Regrowth right now.
Yawgmoth's Will is something I'm looking at for the deck, but first, again, I don't have one or a slot in the deck for it right now.
Heartless Summoning is nice, but I think I can live without it. I think it'd fit better in a Rakdos, Lord of Riots EDH over Jarad. And Jet Medallion isn't really any better than a mana rock.
I didn't even know Ill-Gotten Gains existed. I'll have to think about that one.
Thank you for the suggestions and the +1.

Have you considered Cauldron of Souls its a card I really enjoy especially when you have Mikaeus, the Unhallowed in play?

I have to agree with the others here. Slick deck man. I really like what I see. Out of curiosity, how much use do you get out of Garruk Relentless Flip ? Is he primarily for the tutor ability on his flip side, or the tokens?

Grave Betrayal should be in every black EDH deck, such a good card
