Welcome to the shatterdome!!!

An all you can Jund buffet of wanton destruction where you get to have all the fun, which means there is none left over for any of the other players in your group. One opponent or one hundred, no one enters the shatterdome and comes out unscathed. Use the powers of glorious Jund to punish your enemies while reaping the rewards for yourself.

So what are the rules of the shatterdome?

Always ramp to your advantage!

Shattergang Brothers will allow you to sacrifice your pawns (ramp options) to your benefit and your opponents dismay. Try sacrificing the following to bring the gain to your field and the pain to everyone else's.

By ramping to your advantage you ensure your supremacy on the battlefield while putting your opponents on the back foot.

Know your utility belt, and how to use it!

Shattergang Brothers have an arsenal of utility options to deal with any opponent who enters the shatterdome. Whether you come up against wiley wizards or rascally rogues these cards will get you back in the game.

Other value utility options.

Card draw options.

Tutoring options.

Your utility belt is your most powerful tool for dealing with unexpected situations in the shatterdome.

Know your token factories!

Tokens are your best source of sacrifice fodder for Shattergang Brothers.

Each of these cards creates tokens to power your commander in his fight for dominance of the shatterdome.

No mercy for stooges!

No Jund deck is complete without some threats to attack your opponents life directly and with Shattergang Brothers keeping the field clear of pesky defenders it is now easier than ever to swing in for lethal. So when you need to bring the pain here are the creatures for the job.

  • Avenger of Zendikar - a staple in any green deck, this beast not only makes an army of tokens but also weighs in at a respectable 5/5.
  • Deathbringer Thoctar - beginning as a 3/3 this zombie beast grows stronger with every death on the battlefield to become a significant threat to opponents, can remove it's +1/+1 counters in response to removal to punish an opponent.
  • Grave Titan - the grave dad, a 6/6 deathtouch beast who makes many zombies.
  • Harvester of Souls - another 5/5 bruiser, with deathtouch as a nice bonus.
  • Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet - a versatile bruiser with lifelink who creates tokens from opponents creatures and comes can sacrifice vampires or zombies to increase his power. Works well with Bloodghast and with enough set up can utilise the infinite mana from Basalt Monolith + Rings of Brighthearth and the black mana from Black Market to sacrifice any creature with an ETB equipped with Nim Deathmantle to pump up Kalitas and proc the ETB multiple times. Bonus points for sacrificing Eternal Witness to get cards back from your graveyard or Solemn Simulacrum for card draw and land tutoring.
  • Kresh the Bloodbraided - an amazing combat machine that grows bigger the more creatures are sacrificed to Shattergang Brothers.
  • Tireless Tracker - cheap to cast but grows stronger with every clue that you sacrifice, the +1/+1 counter is applied no matter how or why clue is sacrificed.
  • The Scorpion God - A solid 6/5 monster who returns to hand when he dies.
  • Underworld Cerberus - a mighty 6/6 who can't be blocked by less than three creatures, a great way to get damage in against opponents who have managed to hold onto a few defenders despite your best efforts.
  • Wurmcoil Engine - another impressive 6/6 with deathtouch AND lifelink who makes smaller wurmspin machines when it dies. Can be returned from the graveyard with Glissa, the Traitor.

Your creatures are your best source of damage in this deck, but remember that there is minimal recursion in the deck so be smart about when you play them so they can inflict MAXIMUM CARNAGE on your opponents.

Those are the rules of the shatterdome, learn them, live them, love them and you will be Junding every game you play.
