Have you ever considered Crypt Incursion? Was about building my first EDH deck myself with the same commander as you and stumbled over your deck, guess I can save my work now, looks quite perfect what you got here :o

Hey again! Played this deck this past weekend and it's the most fun deck I've played in Magic ever. I was also wondering what your thoughts were on swapping Propaganda with Fraying Sanity. It was suggested by my play group and it seems like it fits in pretty well with the theme as well.

Hey, thanks for the feedback. Personally, I'd be hesitant to use Fraying Sanity, just because it only affects one player vs Propaganda's global effect. Plus this deck needs a good deterrent against aggro.

Two cards I'm really enjoying are Fact or Fiction and Mimic Vat. Do you find that using a card like Extract from Darkness makes you too much of a target?
August 2, 2017 11:49 p.m.
all of those have been in previous iterations, and i actually kinda miss FoF the most.I took out Extract because of the cost, and Vat because it was a bit too cutesy. I needed more removal and draw to get through the early game.

What about The Scarab God, feel like he could be useful here reanimating all your clones and any other nasty threat your our they have in their grave?
August 24, 2017 11:12 p.m.
Not enough zombies to be useful, and I don't fancy putting creatures back in their hands.
August 25, 2017 12:19 p.m.
You may have misread The Scarab God. It's basically a u/b Chainer, Dementia Master with less potential of abuse but more survivability. I'm not saying it is a good fit for this deck, but it's basically a reanimator.

Right, I misinterpreted the 'it' as meaning the copied creature, lol.... Thanks

what do you think about Fraying Sanity? sounds like a great option with other stuff like Keening Stone

Hi!
First of all: great deck! I built a kinda budget version for my lokal playgroup (we set up a 20 limit for rares and mythics to keep it fair overall for everybody) and its loads of fun :D
I saw you swapped out Evil Twin for Phantasmal Image - isnt that destroying one of your troll moves?
January 7, 2018 4:06 a.m.
@Heinz, It is nice to have Evil Twin or both flavor and removal. However, I found my deck had relatively few early plays, and a 4-drop clone is less feasible than a 2-drop when you're in need of blockers. Late game, you are sort of gambling on the value you get our of Image. You could get a utility creature for 2 or a big beater for 2. However, you might need Twin more late game for removal. So, early game Image is better, mid and late game it's a toss up. If I can get away payig less for my creatures reliably than opponents, I'll be much happier - which Is why I stuck with Image. Twin also doesn't have the versatility of Impersonator or Metamorph, nor the synergy with mill of Doppelganger/ Body Double. That's why He was out.
Honestly, at this point it's such a tight list that it's hard to find space for Evil Twin. Clones are fun, but you don't wan't to fall into the trap of playing too many, as I learned in the past. Otherwise you'll be playing a bit too reactively, and drawing into a clone after a board wipe sucks because there's nothing good to copy.

I feel Sewer Nemesis and Mortivore should be in this deck. They fit great here. Awesome deck though! +1.

Oh and also Jace's Archivist, Memory Erosion, Jace's Erasure, and Sphinx's Tutelage fit great too.
March 12, 2018 3:43 a.m.
As far as Sewer Nemesis and Mortivore, I'm not exactly sure what to swap out for quasi-vanilla beaters. Their mill is minimal (in the case of Nemesis), they have no built in evasion, and so I can't really justify taking out my removal, draw, or more effective graveyard fillers to put in more creatures that crucially depend on the graveyard to even be close to worth their casting cost.
@savagetrooper, Archivist has been in and out of this deck, I'll try him again. The others are simply too slow and too expensive for their effect. If EDH decks could be bigger I may have them added in, but even then Id probably rather have cheaper draw and more removal first.

I honestly feel like [Fleet Swallower] is too high mana costed for a beater that has no instant impact. Personally, I prefer having more ramp/removal/draw instead. Maybe a Fact or Fiction?
Love the deck btw, I was wanting to play a Lazav deck for quite some time but I always find myself being a bit too reactive or having little strong/efficient interaction.

Love this deck! Came here looking for some help to improve my own Lazav deck. You did an amazing job breaking it all down. We already run a lot of the same cards but really like Lord of the Void and guild feeder as creatures I could add. Bojuka Bog is an excellent land choice as well as your point about needing some exile even though I have tried to avoid it because I use the grave so much but you right it just takes one darn Ulamog and mill becomes pointless (though it is soooo much fun when Lazav copies him). Dream bornmuse and mesmeric orb seem perfect! Thanks for such a grea deck

I think Psychic Corrosion would be perfect for this. Trade out something like Reins of Power for it maybe?
July 15, 2018 10:26 p.m.
Nah, Psychic Corrosion relies on me getting to draw to be useful, and it's only a couple cards a turn. It's on curve before Lazav, which is nice but it just mills too little and doesn't offer much protection or added utility (like blocking/attcking).
I like Reins of Power because it's widely useful. It let's me beat tokens by attacking first with them, it lets me steal or sac troublesome creatures (Altar of Dementia), It can be used as a Fog for a turn if needed, or I can steal Player 3's creatures when Player 2 attacks me. Psychic corrosion is kind of a one-trick-pony.

I'd rather keep my graveyard available for other interactions, and they'd be basically uncastable in this deck.
