Well I haven't actually built this yet. But I've pkaytested it quite a bit and I can pretty consistently have a few big threats on the field by turn 3 so I imagine it would be pretty competitive.

AEther Vial and Kira, Great Glass-Spinner help immensely against control decks;

coco and vial help me outrun and outsize creature heavy decks;

burn could be tough, but I have Auriok Champion and Kitchen Finks in the side to help there;

But again I can only speculate as I've yet to sleeve this deck up and play it, though I do plan to.

Oh and I've got Kataki, War's Wage and Spellskite in the side for tron and splinter twin or bogles.

Kataki, War's Wage does nothing to tron. You need Stony Silence. They can't crack o-stone or any of their land fetch besides the green, and half the time they use the Chromatic Sphere to use the green.

I think PerfectDisguise is right. This also looks competitive as I have seen a lot of competitive decks. The only real is, that you eventually can't get your creatures out without Collected Company or AEther Vial.

A good card would be (which I am going to play in my version of this deck): Chord of Calling.

I would severely disagree with your statement that kataki does nothing to Tron. It slows the deck down long enough for me to outrace my opponent. Especially when paired with Kira, Great Glass-Spinner. Does Stony Silence do the job better? Yes. But it does not work in this deck because of coco. This deck already has to many noncreature spells as it is.

And Telerik do not forget you can bring back coco or vial from the graveyard with Eternal Witness :)

June 21, 2015 10:53 a.m.

And also, if it goes into the late game it's fairly easy to hardcast Skaab Ruinator or Serra Avenger

Amazing idea and lots of fun, not to mention very powerful. Aren't we so fortunate Collected Company was printed? :P

+1 from me!

Indeed we are :) thanks for the upvote

I like this deck, but you and I must play in very different metas. In FNM here 4x Myr Superion is an auto-include alongside 4x Skaab Ruinator, unless I want to die to Dismember, and I've regretfully started running three Thalia, Guardian of Thraben -- mainboard -- just trying to keep up with all the B/R Delver spellflinging.

The game against Twin feels almost hopeless even with a full four Spellskite, and I still die too often to people running Liliana of the Veil and Inquisition of Kozilek. Any thoughts on how to improve those matchups?

Also, do you find that you need the Birds of Paradise and Noble Hierarch? I'm never happy to draw them outside my opening hand, and have been tinkering around with cutting them.

I ask especially because my main reason for retaining Hierarchs/Birds has been that they (in theory) enable me to hardcast Myr Superion, but your build dropped those dudes.

June 21, 2015 7:20 p.m.

Yes, the mana dorks are essential. The faster we can cast coco the better as it is the whole thing this deck is built around. And at a mere 20 lands it's good to have some mana producing creatures. Plus, they can always be filtered out with coco.

Whats the plan against very common sideboard cards like Grafdigger's Cage and Pithing Needle? Graf would shut down Collected Company and PiNeedle would shut down AEther Vial. Can I suggest better artifact hate in sideboard or even main deck? Qasali Pridemage might be worth a strong look.

Very good point. I hadn't thought about that. I'll definitely put Qasali in the side.

Have you tried Kira, Great Glass-Spinner to help with removal?

Qasali Pridemage might also be helpful against twin.

June 22, 2015 4:24 p.m.

Due to popular demand (and careful consideration) Myr Superion is back!

What do you think of a one-of Phyrexian Revoker for utility, so you can tutor it with Congregation at Dawn?

June 23, 2015 4:42 p.m.

He doesn't pack quite enough punch to be MB. I could see him SB but not too sure what if replace.

Wish I had thought to use the 5/6's in the bant version I made. I never thought to make a beat down version of the CC and just chose to go meta bears after the beat down version proved unsuccessful against twin and rdw. Maybe the change in meta requires me to change to the beat down version ...

Things I suggest: Sylvan Caryatid instead of Birds of Paradise. Reasons: It can't be bolted, and it works wonders with Worship should you ever choose to run that (Delver can't do shit against it, and Twin has problems with it). Additionally, I would up Eternal Witness to 4, as it's synergy with Collected Company is insane and you can get tonnes of card advantage from it. It is also quite necessary, as a problem this version has is that it relies on a few pivotal pieces which are much easier to remove and prevent thanks to Kolaghan's Command.

Problem decks I see: Tron, Collected Melira, Merfolk and Bloom Titan.

Thanks a lot for the suggestions. I see your point with the caryatid worship synergy, but I'm afraid those cards would take away from the aggressive strategy of the deck. You've also got a good point about witness but I hate having her in my opening hand or early game when she's useless. She is pivotal though, so I'll up her to three. Thanks again

I had considered him but Myr Superion is just better honestly. I like how Epochrasite has recursion but it's still a bit slow.

How about replacing/split Voice of Resurgence with Epochrasite? It's better with Vial.

July 17, 2015 1:45 a.m.

salient says... #25

I disagree, Voice of Resurgence can win games all by itself, and Epochrasite is a generic beater. The recursion just doesn't matter all that often, because it takes so long. I'll grant that getting the most out of Voice of Resurgence takes some finesse, but even if you want to avoid finesse and just want to drop a big beater, I'd rather topdeck a Tarmogoyf 95% of the time.

I was surprised to see Scavenging Ooze didn't make the cut -- I guess graveyard shenanigans are minimal in the metagame. Still, I'd drop Serra Avenger and Mirran Crusader for a playset of ScOoze.
