The burn spells are there for board control. From playtesting it I found that I was either a) racing my opponent's tempo, or b) going up against bigger creatures mid game. So in combination with first strike the burn spells are there to help overcome either bigger creatures or ruining the other player's tempo.
I debated Domri Rade , I currently have one of him already from my EDH deck. I think it could be a good idea, but I'm worried it will slow the deck down a bit. Will proxy and playtest it a little.
As far as the Watery Grave is concerned, the deck was running black as well for Syphon Sliver , but moved it into my sideboard and replaced Blood Crypt with Glacial Fortress . Decided to leave the watery grave in in case I decided to side Syphon in, if in a week I still haven't decided to side him in I'll just remove him from my sideboard and replace watery grave with a couple Clifftop Retreat or something similar.

Could martial glory do a better job than giant growth in this deck? I don't fully know the deck and so don't know how much mana you have spare and how often. I know that Martial Glory is a VERY cheeky card because of the ability to spread the love around. I must say I was a little confused by syphon sliver as a 1 of. Against aggro it would seem you have no need for galerider. I'm thinking instead of fogs? It is rare that a burn deck can reduce your life too drastically in three turns, if your turn two saw a sliver, then syphon drops and you get a little lifelink followed by more next turn. There is nothing an aggro deck dislikes more than lifelink, it works better than fogs in my experience.

Galerider Sliver is a 1 drop that makes my entire field a pain to deal with (not every deck has a lot that can fly obviously).
As far as Martial Glory goes, I just don't see a situation arising where I would need to give one creature +3/+0 and another +0/+3. I'll keep it in the back of my mind come Wednesday when I go back to tournament though.
I loved having Syphon Sliver in my deck when I did. And I'd love to find a way to throw him back in at 2 sometime, I just haven't found a proper way of making the deck perform consistently with him in there.

Could Ready / Willing be par tof this deck then? Could be quite the surprise if you don't have sentinel sliver out?
July 29, 2013 7:24 a.m.
That's possible, right now I'm working on a way to raise Megantic Sliver up to 3 and throw in a pair of Domri Rade as well.

To help with removal, try Legion's Initiative or Boros Charm . Both work really well against board wipes and target removal.
August 8, 2013 5:03 p.m.
There are 3 Boros Charm in my sideboard for removal currently. Legion's Initiative is a card I was playtesting with your deck and just didn't want to play it a lot of the time that it was in my hand, so I'm not sure how I feel about it just yet.

I've got a deck similar to this one, except I don't run blue. I've just excepted the fact that I'm gonna lose to a bunch of spot removal decks. I've considered just siding in Assemble the Legion in those kinds of matchups. I've also considered Alpha Authority . But for decks that play Supreme Verdict , I keep Boros Charm in the mainboard and Rootborn Defenses in the side.

Assemble the Legion
is just way too slow for standard, especially a sliver deck.
And the reason I threw blue in was due to the extreme lack of flying in the current meta, Galerider Sliver is a 1 drop 1/1 flyer that gives all my slivers flying...I've won so many more games than I imagined I would have just because my slivers were swinging in the air as opposed to being blocked because they are on the ground.
In my opinion, the best mana conversion to usefulness slivers are Sentinel Sliver and Galerider Sliver , and an argument can be made to put Manaweft Sliver in the same category. I can't imagine any sliver deck not trying to use these.

Sentinel Sliver + Manaweft Sliver with removal in hand? I heard that wins games. +1

you don't need to zrip i'll link it for ya:
deck-large: the hivemind awakens

Have you considered Garruk, Caller of Beasts over domri? Garruk would refill your hand much faster than domri and still has the possibility of hitting the board on turn three if you hit manaweft sliver.

I don't like giant growth in this deck and since you have manaweft sliver what about: -3 giant growth -2 breeding pool +1 domri rade +2 cyphon sliver +2 blood crypt
August 24, 2013 7:38 a.m.
I refuse to try and run this as 5 color, I already did that at one point...it's way too inconsistent. And I don't own a Garruk and don't wanna spend the money on him right now, which is the only reason I don't run him over Domri Rade . So yes I agree he would fit the deck much better.
As for the Giant Growth , it can be used for anti burn or killing enemy creatures via block because they generally don't expect it right away. However one thing that happened to me vs the thragtusk deck is that I blocked a thragtusk with a predatory and gave it growth...making it a power 5, and he was able to Selesnya Charm it ;(.

Personally I would drop Giant Growth for the Megantic Sliver , if you get the right opening hand, you should be able to drop it fairly soon. I am currently working on my own Standard Sliver deck and going for G/R/B in mine.
For your Boros Charm , I would probably never put them into the sideboard, it's a nice mainboard card that can answer a nice bit of cards.
Well just my two cents on your deck, hope any of that helped.

Crystalline Sliver ? Not so good against board wipes but saves you from single target spells.
August 24, 2013 12:28 p.m.
Thorncaster Sliver will help you end games sooner. Maybe drop the Giant Growth for them
August 24, 2013 1:04 p.m.
@Beenebulon This is a standard deck, Crystalline Sliver is not an option.
August 24, 2013 5:39 p.m.
Will tinker around with Ready / Willing in place of Giant Growth . Occasionally I get a swarm of 5 or 6 1 drops and cant defend myself, would be nice to throw some lifelink and deathtouch on them. Not to mention a 2nd card for indestructible.

isn't Realmwright a viable choice for no mana problems ?

Chromatic Lantern would be better than Realmwright for mana fixing as it doesn't cost colored mana.

Could Boros Charm work in place of the Searing spear? The doublestrik will proabably do the same most of the time surely? Also domri rade would be a good place to start if you wanted card draw with some 27 creatures! And then Faith's Shield could work too. Out of interest what are the burn spells there for? Watery Grave seems detrimental, you need it for only a few cards and so might aswell be colourless, may I advise spreading blue and black over more lands like you have done with glacial fortress? 1 Naya colour, and one "wet" colour :)
