Im a very casual Edh/Standard player, heres my first brawl deck. The explanation of the components can be found below. Any and all recommendations welcome!

Generally we want to hit the board running with some creature ramp.

As mid-game begins, the deck has a few different tactics:

By now the game should be looking sweet and theres only two ways to go from here:

  • Option A, go big. Shanna, Sisay’s Legacy should be looking juicy by now and, if the decks doing its job, Ghalta, Primal Hunger should be a 2 drop. Or maybe target Danitha Capashen, Paragon with Appeal for the first strike and lifelink.

  • These big baddies should be supported by indestructible soldiers like The Gods, Gideon, Martial Paragon and Gideon of the Trials (new legendary rules says we can use both at once!).

  • Option B, mass disruption. Urza's Ruinous Blast and Fall of the Thran are the cards here, with two different board states they support. Urza wants you to have planeswalkers out, have the gods out, have just about all the legendary creatures you can out because everything else is gone, forever. Mind you, Mirror Mirage can 'duck' this by becoming a land, but about half the deck does get hit by your own blast so board state matters a lot here.

  • The other route, Fall of the Thran, wants almost the exact opposite boardstate. The dream state would be all the mana producers out, a ton of token creatures with +1/+1 counters and a few legendary flip lands before they've flipped. Cast Fall of the Thran, destroy it with Thrashing Brontodon or Invoke the Divine and you're probably the only person with mana available for the remainder of the game. Trigger the legendary lands to flip and youre up quite a bit.

So we've gotten stuck and are still hanging on in the late game? Theres a little bit of support to keep the steam rolling if we need it.

Just some general things to point out-

  • I went with Caught in the brights over Luminous Bonds because theyre almost identical, but if I use it on a commander I can let it sit and if not I can possibly swing Conqueror's Galleon   to get rid of it for good.

  • Mirage Mirror is in the deck because its just to dang good. Steal other commanders for a turn, double down on a good ability or (best of all IMO) copy a saga on your upkeep, and on draw you get a lore counter and its first ability. Do it again (to the same saga or another) to steal the second ability. Of course, the third time you do this you'll be forced to sac it, but Restoration Specialist can bring it back and, depending on what your opponents saga's are (cough Time of Ice, The Eldest Reborn, The Mending of Dominaria cough) it may be worth it.

  • I totally forgot about Champion of Rhonas! but I havent decided if I want to add him yet or not... thinking about it...

First game at the LGS was with some friends, one build Muldratha, the other build Raff. Game started pretty dang slow, Raff had a LandGo strategy anyway, Muldrathas engine was aways off and somehow, at 21 lands, i was flooded for the first 5 draws (after keeping a land heavy hand cus "holy shit, I found my land!"). After it picked up there was a lot of fun but generally a lot of people learning new Dom cards and trying to threat asses against stuff we haven't experienced before. All together, game went way way too long and we were all ready to fold it up, board state got very stale as apparently I was the only one with a boardwipe and I had put it to the bottom with Ajani around turn 10. My recursion held up decent in the late game, but really the ability to Mirage Mirror Muldratha kept me alive and coming back in the end. I was main target (having hexproof and 4 planeswalkers tends to do that to you) and took a total of 32 damage to the face, plus about 20-30 to the planeswalkers. Won with Gideon, Martial Paragon emblem and Gideon of the Trials still on the field, at -2 health (muldratha had swung at me and gid, i blocked git and let myself go negative). Swung out muldratha with 2 blockers standing for gideon against Raff, next turn i swung him out too.

From this game, I think I need to squeeze in Hour of Revelation and some more targeted removal.
