if you wanna use standard vamps, it should be a staple. standard needed more low mana vamps if the deck was going to be viable. outside of standard? i dunno. the effect is okay but we have better stuff thanks to zendikar. i'd rather just run Guul Draz Vampire for intimidate.

I know it has been said but.....NO Blade of the Bloodchief!?!?!
I can't imagine my vamp deck without all those extra plus 1's.It never slows me down.

i remember using that card once upon a time. this isn't the highborn engine, so it's a good deal less useful now.
keep in mind, there's more than one way to run a tribal deck. just because a card has good synergy with the tribe doesn't mean it belongs in every build.

I would recommend using a Hellrider. I Used to run a similarly styled deck, and there can only be four copies of nocturnus to drop for a win on turn four. I suggest Hellrider in the maindeck, as it usually deals 6-8 extra damage on turn four. Also, Hero of Oxid Ridge can be a complete blowout to certain types of decks, and his haste is amazing. Overall, I really like this build, though. Well Done

not black, not vampires, 6 cards at 4 mana is already pushing it. i appreciate the input, but i'll stick with my Vampire Nocturnus and Stromkirk Captain.

yeah dude. i know that there is more than one way to run a deck. i just happen to like the card. snarky much?
anyway. i was thinking this deck page really needs the Simon's Quest music to play along with it every time a user opens it.
@yeaGO! is there a way to imbed a small repeating music file? haha. that would be kind of awesome for this deck.... and likely extremely annoying 99.9% of the time for every other deck

well nubbins, marsh flats and verdant catacombs do the same thing here. all that matters is the swamp keyword.
quiver, yeah. sorry if i come off a bit rough. i often come across people who think every deck of a particular tribe needs the same cards and need to be run the same way. i wasn't trying to insult you or anything.
and that would be awesome tbh. i'm playing Simon's Quest on another computer as i type this. i just finished symphony of the night. needed a break from Metal Gear Solid and Ninja Gaiden, so i decided on a day of Castlevania. and actually, i use my phone to play Dance of Illusions or Vampire Killer when i play with this deck usually. some find it distracting, but i think music adds to the game. it makes the rush of combat all the more thrilling and adds to the mood.

so you're a Castlevania fan, quiver? I'm not a Castlevania fan. I'm a Castlevania fanatic. ;D

Perhaps try for some hand disruption in your sideboard? Excluding goyf you should be able to dominate the creature base of a board, especially if LL your guys have first strike, have you playtested with Kalastria Highborn yet? Seems like she could do some things here especially of you are having difficulties with say, supreme verdict and DOJ, at the least add a bit of utility. Cavern of Souls is the card to play against control decks, upside is uncounterable of any color for creatures, downside is colorless for instants and sideboard.
