As a small update after what spoilers we have so far for Shadows over Innistrad, Elusive Tormentor looks really good.

Do you think Heir of Falkenrath is good enough for Modern Vampires? A 3/2 flyer for 2 that you can set up a free Bloodghast with?

March 15, 2016 3:25 p.m.

She looks fine if you're holding a bloodghast. Only if you're holding a ghast though. She's especially good if your lands are urborg + a fetch. 3/2 flying on turn 2, free 2/1 next turn. Then if you can drop a Stromkirk Captain turn 3 you have a nasty creature on the third turn. By the way, I love your name @AndWelcomeToTheJam. Are you by any chance a Dark Souls fan, or do you just like Space Jam?

March 15, 2016 3:49 p.m.

I just like jammin', man

March 15, 2016 3:52 p.m.

Hahah, fair enough.

Also, Torpor Orb has no interaction with Eidolon of the Great Revel. Eidolon's check trigger happens on a spell's cast, not on its resolution/ETB.

March 15, 2016 4:06 p.m.

Oh, you're right. And that should be obvious. I must have been really tired editing the description, will fix now.

So, I just saw the spoiler for Vampire Glutton. 2/1 vampire warrior for 1 red mana. All vampires in your hand have madness equal to their mana cost. With or without the ability, 2 power for 1 mana and no drawback besides not being black is incredible.

March 15, 2016 4:20 p.m.

That would be a great card to go with Heir of Falkenrath, but you would have to change most of your deck up accordingly to fit the Madness theme.

March 15, 2016 4:26 p.m.

Yeah. I probably won't run her due to space issues. I might slip in 1 or 2 glutton just for early game momentum. Heir is a maybe at this point.

March 15, 2016 4:37 p.m.

Thing is, correct me if I'm wrong but giving all creatures in my hand madness is can be used as a countermeasure against hand disruption, right?

Hey Yami! Can I get a look at my slightly new deck? The Thirst 2: Fresh Blood

In the sideboard I prefer 2 prism ring and 1 dragon's claw, as this is rakdos and not red deck wins.

March 20, 2016 11:20 a.m.

That doesn't work. the point is their burns do less damage.

Some people run it. I find Terminate far more useful outside of the affinity matchup. Which has never given me problems anyway.

This is soo sweet and I love that it is Vampires. Nocturnis is very good and I like how the cards that are red also cater to Vampire Nocturnus. I am seeing something that would potentially make this even faster. I couldnt help but suggest Collected Company, due to already having Verdant Catacombs. It would in turn be Jund instead of Rakdos, and that is on the other hand, not what you decided to build. Regardless man +1 from this guy.

March 25, 2016 6:15 p.m.

Verdant Catacombs is a fetch land. It fetches for swamps, hence Blood Crypt. It can be used in a deck that is in no way shape or form green. I'm actually not against the idea throwing in 2 Overgrown Tomb and splashing green. But it would be for Abrupt Decay, Kessig Wolf Run, sided Krosan Grip and maybe Maelstrom Pulse. Back to Nature if Bogle starts looking scary.

March 25, 2016 6:46 p.m.

I'm considering dropping Drana. I would almost say she's too slow. If I did I'd add the 4th Nighthawk or another Kalitas.

March 25, 2016 6:47 p.m.

To expand on my earlier comment: the 8 fetch lands, Verdant Catacombs and Bloodstained Mire are effectively like running 12 Blood Crypts. Only they're even better since I can force a shuffle for Nocturnus or flash Bloodghast back into play at their end step for only 1 life.

I'm not going to lie to you I finished this deck IRL for myself. I have to thank you.

And what of the new Olivia, Mobilized for War for your 1 of Drana, Liberator of Malakir.

March 25, 2016 8:05 p.m.

She really doesn't fit into this build. She looks like she'd be incredible in a deck with 4 Falkenrath Gorger, 4 Asylum Visitor and 4 Heir of Falkenrath. That and the usual Viscera Seer + Bloodghast engine, probably with Stromkirk Captain for buffs.

March 25, 2016 8:08 p.m.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery @Casey4321. Be sure to let me know how it performs for you. A big part of why I do so well with it is I know this deck and the modern meta better than the back of my hand.
