I played against a similar enchantment control deck a few months ago. It was decent but only being able to respond to your opponent's threats on your own turn really limited it. It was especially vulnerable to haste creatures and needed a source of life gain. A couple of days ago I had an epiphany: Blind Obedience is just the card this deck was missing!
Play goes something like this: Oh, you play Lightning Mauler? Exiled. Thragtusk? Can't attack or block. Griselbrand? Don't care. Now I drop 1 or more Sphere of Safety and you can never hit me again! And I am free to take you out with an Ethereal Armor enchanted Invisible Stalker.
After testing it a bit it is actually working really well. It shuts down boros, selesnya, and pretty much any aggro quite effectively. It has a bit of trouble with other control decks, especially UW flash and Esper control. Board wipes such as Supreme Verdict, Terminus & Mutilate are pretty deadly since I run so few creatures and often have them enchanted. Other cards that can shut me down are an overloaded Cyclonic Rift & Paraselene. Luckily no one runs the second since no one else plays this deck! Anyway, this is why I have 4x Nevermore in the sideboard. These come in game 2 every time so that I can go on the "offensive" and block their key cards or sweepers.
Rest in Peace SB is to nullify Runechanter's Pike or to shut down reanimator decks, though I'm not sure I'll really need it for the latter. Pithing Needle is for planeswalker-heavy decks. Arrest will usually replace a couple Oblivion Rings and Detention Spheres if they play thragtusk. I don't need them getting that token!
I have been playing around with the idea of running Jace, Memory Adept as a secondary mill win-con since I sometimes do get milled out vs esper. I might even want to splash into black for Nephalia Drownyard but I haven't really found anything else in the color I want to play. Perhaps just playing Elixir of Life is the answer, or Psychic Spiral?
I would appreciate suggestions for these worse match-ups because the only cards I am missing are the spheres and blind obedience and will only have to spend $20 to build the deck, so I am definitely doing it. (I realize Geist of Saint Traft would probably be a good addition, maybe even playing 12 creatures instead of 8, but 4 of him would double the price of the deck.)
