The shock land is just a guild gate that has an option to come in untapped, AND it counts as both of its respective land types. Seems like enough reason to run it to me.

Keep Steam Vents in lol... maybe -1 of each basic to throw in 2 Izzet Guildgate ? If your mana is working for you, then don't change it xD

Hmmm... I think, personally, I'd take a different route with this deck. Take out all the creatures except for the 4x Delver of Secrets  Flip . +3 card:Judge's Familiar, +3 Mindshrieker , +2 card:Jace's Phantasm, +2 Fettergeist .

Mindshrieker can be an amazing card! The buffs it can possibly obtain are crazy and it also gives good synergy with the card:Jace's Phantasm and card:Runechanter's Pike (which I am about to suggest very soon! ;) ) card:Judge's Familiar can be a good annoyance for your opponent, even late game, with a good old Pike floating around! :D It can also provide (maybe, possibly, more no than yes) some protection for your Delver of Secrets  Flip . Fettergeist is just a semi-decent mid game drop if you can't seem to get your delver flipped fast enough! 3/4 for 3 CMC isn't horrible! and that 1 CMC upkeep per creature shouldn't be too hefty for you since you SHOULDN'T be flooding the field with creatures!

-2 Counterflux (throw those in the sideboard, good against other control), -1 Syncopate . +3-4 card:Runechanter's Pike. Great card in this style of deck! While I do agree with the "fun-ness" of Epic Experiment , there really aren't that many valid targets to cast! :( So, I'd take it out. The reason that I changed the whole creature base, is due to a card that I haven't seen get ANY play! Magmaquake !! I'd love to play 3-4 of these in this style of deck for a pretty good board sweep and it can also hit PW'ers that may be annoying you! :D

Izzet Charm !! Very good to have options! You could also drop some instants/sorceries to the grave to give a nice little +2 to card:Runechanter's Pike :D

Lemme know what you think about the suggestions!! :D

Well This whole deck was built around Guttersnipe so he certainly isn't leaving and I may run card:Runechanter's Pike instead of Nivmagus Elemental . Also, this isn't a mill deck so card:Jace's Phantasm and Mindshrieker don't fit. Id also rather run Bonfire of the Damned over Magmaquake . And Fettergeist is aweful I'm sorry and card:Judge's Familiar doesn't benefit from instants and sorceries like the other creatures so that wont be added in.

Cool cool! I guess my ideas will just have to be put in a whole new deck all together! Lol! And i merely suggested creatures who were good targets for card:Runechanter's Pike! All the creatures I suggested were flyers so they also dodged the damage from Magmaquake :D Bonfire of the Damned is a top notch card that I would recommend four of! But, for those of us on any type of budget, or looking for good, cheap board sweeps, Magmaquake is the junk! Fettergeist is more of a good drop that dodges a lot of burn-removal and is, again, a good target for the card:Runechanter's Pike!! :D

But, have fun and good luck in all your future endeavors!! :)

Invisible Stalker cool find place in this deck if adding card:Runechanter's Pike also I say add Mizzium Skin to your sideboard to protect your Guttersnipe

Well against control decks I hope my counter magic will be enough to save them. I have considered it and my sideboard is still a work in progress so well see what I end up coming up against frequently. As for Invisible Stalker , I really dont know where to put him. I want to put card:Runechanter's Pike in Nivmagus Elemental 's place but after that I'm replacing Instants and sorceries Which I want as many as possible.

I actually think this deck is extremely good because it is not trying to be delver deck. Delver is a good creature no doubt but I feel you have found an extremely balanced deck. You can keep improving but dont put pike/talrand/augur etc in an attempt to bring back old delver deck. That deck is dead +1 from me

No izzet charm? I think all three effects are useful in the format and synergize well with guttersnipe. I'd swap the counterfluxs for them. I've been having a immense amount of trouble defeating thragtusk with this kind of build, I'd recommend brimstone volley, which goes quite well with the snipe and goblin electromancer.

November 3, 2012 5:24 p.m.

BrokenZygoma says... #12

I've considered Izzet Charm . Its probably the best substitute for Counterflux . The only reason I don't run Brimstone Volley is that I'm planning on directing most of my burn directly at my opponents so I don't know how often the morbid will be available. It certainly is good, but I'm not quite sure yet.

November 3, 2012 5:42 p.m.

BrokenZygoma says... #13

Well I decided to run Brimstone Volley in partial place of Nivmagus Elemental and threw in 3 Izzet Charm s

I like this list alot, I am running a similar one. I think there are a few things I can contribute here:

6 Islands will cause you to sometimes not be able to afford UU cost of Dissipate. In general, I think 20 is too low for this deck. Sacrifice the Goblin Electromancer for 2xIsland 1x Mountain. I know they are tempting to run, but they fall victim to removal easily, as does Guttersnipe.

If you can afford them, Tamiyo and Jace take this deck from good to great.

You don't want Epic Experiment. In order for it to work at it's true potential, you need to be able to ramp into it with Farseek and Ranger's Path. See twitch.tv/traviswoo

Runechanter's Pike is great here.

BrokenZygoma says... #15

But remember I have 6 islands and 8 other blue sources so I'll rarely be lacking in the blue department. And I think 23 is too much for the deck. Maybe 22 but I really don't wanna drop the Goblin Electromancer s

Hey, BrokenZygoma!

I would suggest you to to add Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius if you want to draw cards to deal damage. This ultimate guild leader can fly its way to victory!

Also consider a Dominus of Fealty if you want a spirit avatar. Try a Cobblebrute or a Tibor and Lumia . Cyclonic Rift might help your deck by annoying your opponents easily.

November 4, 2012 5:25 p.m.

BrokenZygoma says... #17

Well Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius is too expensive, Cobblebrute doesn't do anything, and Cyclonic Rift is part of my sideboard. Tibor and Lumia and Dominus of Fealty aren't even legal in standard.

November 4, 2012 9:39 p.m.

Just a thought, but wouldn't Tibor and Lumia kind of back fire in this deck anyways. seeing as how you have no flying creatures anyways?

November 4, 2012 10:01 p.m.

BrokenZygoma says... #19

Yeah it would kill my Guttersnipe s, but Delver of Secrets  Flip transformed would be safe.

Hey, BrokenZygoma!

Sorry my earlier suggestions didn't work. I have decided that the following cards are in your budget and help this supercool spellcasting deck. Please consider.

Dual Casting , Double Negative , Nivix, Aerie of the Firemind , card:Firemind's Foresight, Lunar Mystic

Also, you might wanna consider some Redirect or Reverberate .

Maybe your Izzet deck might benefit from these suggestions?

Have a great time deciding!

November 4, 2012 11:46 p.m.

JoeyAwesome says... #21

Oh, maybe consider a cool but expensive Hypersonic Dragon or the Hellkite Charger . It would make your deck dominate the battlefield with flying creatures

Thank you for considering!

neloht says... #22

there is so much control and burn in this deck it isn't fun and takes a really long time doing play testing against my deck that controls and destroys RATZ REBURTH and it ended with my deck milling your deck and your deck almost burned mine to death... I suggest Mizzium Skin to protect your creatures because they are really open to removal but that does make Brimstone Volley really good for you.

I like Izzet... not bad! +1 by me! Do you think about Reverberate ?

November 5, 2012 6:24 a.m.

JoeyAwesome says... #24

Ya. Reverberate s, Double Negative s and Redirect s are useful. +1 by me.

Dude, this deck has INSPIRED me to be MORE IZZET than azorius. +2, if I could.
