@doomage009 I know I'm two months late in saying this, but thanks! haha! looking at your decks I can see how awesome your 2HG combos can be! I'll probably run something similar if I ever play 2HG seeing as I already have so many of the cards you use in them. Minds Aglow is awesome, and would be fun in multiplayer, especially when your friends don't want to draw when you have a Consecrated Sphinx on the board! I may side it in for Mind Spring if I know I'm gonna play with lots of peeps ahead of time.

Starting to consider changes for new cards with m13. Magmaquake over earthquake? What would I substitute for Staff of Nin if I used it? Is it even worth putting in?

@Geoxis He's sweet alright. I wouldn't mind that free brainstorm whenever I want each turn, but that's probably all I'll ever use him for in THIS deck. So even If I could afford him, I dunno about putting him in.

Makes sense, I have a friend with an firemind edh deck and he has it in there simply because it is awesome haha

it IS awesome!! I don't blame him at all for using it! its without a doubt my favorite Jace! Its just the theme of my EDH deck is Windfall effects and comboing with those, so I don't think I'd use Jace per se... but he is a great card I must admit.

hoping to score a Counterflux to replace Double Negative

Got my Counterflux , but i'm subbing out Last Word for now... might choose Double Negative later. Not sure which one should go if either. Also, I'm trying out a Mercurial Chemister and subbed him in for Dreamscape Artist . This deck has CRAAAZY mana ramp already so I thought he was a good switch. let me know if you think these choices are dumbzo.

I decided I wanted Last Word more than Double Negative . besides I've never used Double Negative's full potential before, or even seen it used for that matter. I guess I like it cuz its Izzet and seems so appropriate for the deck.

trying out Archmage Ascension again... made a "sideboard" to keep track of what I'm taking out for it.
Also I'm considering card:Blue Sun's Zenith over Mind Spring , 1 for the instant speed, and 2 for just knowing I can get it back easy.

So now that I have more time, the experimentation continues. I'm considering taking out my infinite combos and replacing them with other combos just because no one wants to play my deck anymore when I just combo out and win all the time. So, I'm trying some new stuff including Charisma , Nin, the Pain Artist , and Stuffy Doll .

What of Rhystic Study ? Ze blue powerhouse of card advantage and tax. With Rhystic Study, it's all upside. They don't play spells? You're good. They let you draw and they play spells? Crush them with control and card advantage. They play spells, but don't let you draw? You're taxing them mana, and you can still control the heck out of them. So, yeah. Rhystic Study . Try it.

Currently on the chopping block: Darksteel Ingot , Izzet Signet , Dissipation Field , Mind Spring , Swerve , and Pemmin's Aura .
These are cards I'm considering replacing with cards that are in my "Sideboard"
One thing I've discovered is that the mana ramp in this deck is incredible, almost too incredible, so that I'm not drawing key cards but instead having so much mana and nothing to do with it. Mana is definately something that can be shaved down a bit in this deck.
Sword of War and Peace is a new idea, and seems like it would call for Ethereal Usher to come back, and would be fun to put on Dragon Mage , ensuring, at the least, an exchange of 7 for 7. I've also always wanted a little life gain for this deck. I like Venser's Journal but I think I'm more inclined to use Ivory Tower because of the cost and because it works with Trinket Mage .
Rhystic Study is definitely going in asap, but haven't decided what to cut yet. Ral Zarek will find a home here as well, once he's released.

@benzzer853: I've considered Copy Artifact many times, but decided that I didn't need as much artifact copying. I like the 2cc, but Sculpting Steel helps me more because of metalcraft and can be fetched by Fabricate if I feel I need a copy of something I have more than a new artifact... that would be rare but the fact remains that I can tutor for it and can't for the enchantment.
I know... Copy Artifact is great, but I think I need other things first.

Melek, Izzet Paragon, once Dragon's Maze comes out, should be a serious consideration. And why are you taking out Swerve , the evil tool(box) redirecter?

I'm not taking it out yet... its just on the block for consideration...
I haven't used Swerve too effectively yet, maybe I just haven't exploited it correctly... hmm.

@benzzer853: I've looked more closely at Copy Artifact and now I think it may be better than Sculpting Steel since it still counts toward metalcraft. The only thing now is that it counts as both artifact and enchantment, making it a bit more vulnerable...

Dragon's Maze Considerations:Turn/Burn: Turn to Frog +Shock ... I'm thinking of replacing my Turn to Frog with this.Ral Zarek: Duh... I think this one is definately going to be my 1 planeswalker for this deck.Melek, Izzet Paragon: He's cool but I don't think he fits well enough with this deck synergy wise or theme wise.

Expedition Map + Academy Ruins + Memory Jar ? And maybe the lame izzet cluestone (recurrable single draw and mana fix)?

to Storm Cauldron or not to Storm Cauldron ... I like that evil mana-hate... would pair nicely with some wheel effects to take their mana away... like Teferi's Puzzle Box .

decided to drop 2 more lands, going down to 36, because there is SOOO much ramp already. Put in a Storm Cauldron and a Muddle the Mixture for the transmute.

If you're looking for transmute tutors, how about Drift of Phantasms ?
Pemmin's Aura seems a little costly for this deck. Most of the effects it provides seem not-quite-suited to this deck.

@YerpyMoose: yeah, I've considered taking it out time and time again, but i keep deciding to put it back in because every ability (except the flying) on Pemmin's Aura is perfect for Niv. I can give it shroud if it's targeted, I can boost the defense as far as my mana can take it if someone uses a Mizzium Mortars or something, and, possibly most importantly, I can untap Niv for U, allowing me to draw tons of cards, possibly more than an X spell would.
So.. for Niv, Pemmin's Aura is amazing IMHO... but it really only makes the commander amazing. It doesn't add any Windfall effects or defense or mana hate. Its purely for niv. So yeah, its not the best card in this deck but i have to remember that it isn't the worst either.
I've considered adding a Stasis too, but I'm not sure I can justify that without a Ral Zarek or a Mind Over Matter , but if I add mind over matter thats an instant-win anyway and isnt fun at all...
