Standard Midrange WB (Orzhov)

Sideboard

Deck based on Divio's awesome w/b midrange deck. I've modified it for my local game. I really like how Elspeth, Sun's Champion plays now.

Still torn about Fiendslayer Paladin. My local game is very control oriented, so I wonder if I should mainboard Sin Collector and sideboard the paladins for more aggressive decks.

Any suggestion is appreciated.

Took the deck to a new store last night and went 3-1. Was very happy with how the deck played. Made top 4 and split prize pool with the other 3. One of the top 4 said he wanted to split prize pool because he wanted to avoid playing this deck. Was very happy with how it played and was extremely happy with the sideboard. This was a new shop and I wasn't sure what I was walking into, and the sideboard saved me, especially in the final round.

Round 1 - Green devotion (I think) - 2-0 - not much to say here. I don't think he could ever really get his deck going. I removed most of his initial threats both rounds with Devour Flesh and hero's donwfall and won with Precinct Captain and a whole army of soldier tokens both matches.

Round 2 - Slivers - 1-2 - looking back on it I feel like I had everything setup to beat this deck, but I just could not get a decent draw. He played little removal with just a bunch of slivers and I could not draw a win con or decent removal. He also ran Domri Rade which forced my creatures into combat against his boosted slivers and made me play from behind pretty much the whole match.

Round 3 - White weenie (I think) - 2-0 - another pretty straightforward match. I felt like I was in control from the first draw. Kept removing his creatures as they landed. Played Blood Baron of Vizkopa flying to end both matches.

Round 4 - Rakdos aggro - 2-1 - I thought I had this match lost. He came to the table sideboarding as he knew what I was playing. He won the first match in what seemed like just 6 turns. I never had a chance to get ANYTHING on the battlefield because of a poor draw. I thought it was over when the second match started, but Blind Obedience saved me. Came in on my second turn and slowed his attack down. He started sacrificing creatures for Desecration Demon and got mana flooded and scooped with 7 life left. Third match he started out much more aggressive and had me down to 12. I drew one Blind Obedience in my initial hand and another on my second turn. I ended up playing both, which actually helped, as I extorted him for two life pretty much every turn til the end. Fiendslayer Paladin also came in and with first strike he was unable to block. He used Slaughter Games to take away Desecration Demon but my other win cons came in at the end. He played his deck very well and had it not been for Blind Obedience I would have easily lost this match. I thought rakdos aggro wasn't as effective now as it was pre-rotation, but honestly if some of his big nasties would've shown up, like Stormbreath Dragon I doubt I would've gotten the win.
