This deck is sick, totally trashed my deck when I playtested against it. I am a huge Orzhov fan and it is nice to see something that is not another Warrior deck. +1 for sure!

Thanks FrostyJams glad to hear it. I went to FNM recently with this deck and I went 4-1-1 which got me 5th place so I'm pretty happy to where this deck is going.

That's a good finish at FNM. I think that this deck definitely has the ability to do better though. I know that you have put thought into Underworld Coinsmith and I did as well, I think he needs to go, the mechanic is too slow for lifegain and it is expensive to use as a weapon. It seems that you include him to get damage through when the board is clogged and you can't swing through. If that is the case you should just use creatures that have evasion instead, they can almost always swing.
The way I see this deck is that you have base creatures that you bestow and that works beautifully to all the removal in Standard right now. So your current base creatures are Fabled Hero, Hero of Iroas, Seeker of the Way and presumably Underworld Coinsmith which leaves all other creatures for bestow. I do like the addition of Seeker of the Way but he won't be able to swing into an established board either so the lifegain is not guaranteed when prowess is triggered.
I would drop the Seekers and the Coinsmiths and add 4 Sungrace Pegasus and an additional Athreos, God of Passage. You will almost always be able to swing with Sungrace for consistent damage and can bestow or pump him with Citadel Siege for big lifegain. I think that Athereos is also a much better way to slip non combat damage through than Coinsmith.
Those are just my thoughts, but I think it will create more consistent damage on your opponent and more lifegain for you each turn. It is probably worth some playtesting.

I dont't know about Sungrace Pegasus. It poses as a redundant problem with Herald of Torment and Hopeful Eidolon. I don't like to rely on specific combos with this deck because it will never work at FNM. I want to play my creatures in various ways that doesn't create redundant problems.
But ya the seekers and coinsmith may not be the best fit for the deck so i'll see what options I have. Heck I like to see how Aven Sunstriker works with this deck since you can play it morphed, use Citadel Siege to pump it then launch a fatal blow with megamorph to my opponent when they realize its a 4/4 flyer/double-striker.
But ya, thanks for the ideas.

I think that redundancy is what you want, that is why I suggested Pegasus. Redundant systems are put in place to back each other up when one is not available. My thought is that having versatile base creatures that can give you similar results with your different bestow creatures will make the deck more consistant.
When I playtested your deck, the Herald of Torment with anything was a back breaker but there are only 4 of them. If you can figure out a way to get similar results with more cards you can always overpower your opponent, not just when you draw lucky combos. Sungrace Pegasus + Eidolon of Countless Battles is almost as brutal as Fabled Hero + Herald of Torment. They are both evasive, both a bitch to get rid of, and both deadly.
I like Aven Sunstriker as well, I think you should play with the different combinations that can give you flying, lifelink, and face bashing. If you can consistently do all three, it will be hard to lose.

wow. this deck is really good. It works especially well when fabled hero is taken up to a higher level. This deck is more heroic, though, not lifelink. But I really like the idea. I am already thinking of another deck. Mind if I use this as the base, Matador?

amerika00 sure go for it. Let me know if you have some new ideas for it as well :)

So instead of Sungrace Pegasus or Aven Sunstriker, why not use Graceblade Artisan and Sage's Reverie?
May 21, 2015 10:59 a.m.
shocktrooper97 I have definitely considered those cards before but I just have mixed feelings about them.
Lets say for example that I have Graceblade Artisan out and I enchant it with Eidolon of Countless Battles it becomes a 6/7 right? If I do that with Aven Sunstriker, I get a 3/3 with flying and double-strike which deals 6 damage in the air. The Graceblade can survive burn better yes but it all dies to spot removal as well. Maybe I could replace Sungrace Pegasus instead?
Sage's Reverie is kinda a overkill card which is yes, exactly the name of this deck. Its hard to fully utilize the benefits of this card because I always suffer from constant removal at FNM. I will playtest it again to see if its still good but I am not sure at this point.

What are you thinking of putting in post rotation as far as whats rotating out?
July 14, 2015 12:38 a.m.
Well, we will have to see what battle for Zendikar brings to the table in terms of enchantments.
But cards I'm considering are Blessed Spirits, Topan Freeblade, maybe Relic Seeker to experiment with Helm of the Gods.
The rotation is gonna be tough for this deck as I'm dependent on many Theros cards, but I might as well enjoy it while it lasts :)

Starfield of Nyx is definitely a cool card, but I always feared getting board wiped when my enchantments become creatures. It would be also be cool to get my enchantment creatures back as well.
I guess more testing with the card is what I'm trying to do now.

i dunno about elsewhere but the only board-wipes ive seen played in standard atm r with control decks (which are a big problem for this deck anyway) and cards like Languish

Pretty good build here. I would add some type of enchantment removal in the sodeboard. Erase or Deicide
