Hey pope, thanks for your input! Sadly Sway of the Stars is on the banned list as well so the issue remains kinda unsolved.

Oops, I didn't know Sway of the Stars was banned too. Oh well then I guess Obliterate is the closest option I know about but you have that in your deck already anyway.

nice job. i've been working on a budget version. i was thinking maybe Blightsteel Colossus instead of Darksteel Colossus because people can't get rid of infect counters. easy kill after a board wipe bacause 10 poisen counters = death
November 7, 2012 6:18 p.m.
That's a good one for sure! I guess I've got too much old-school lovin' going on for DSC to replace him but I'll definitely see to make room for Blightsteel Colossus somehow.
As for the budget version: The deck is just as fun without Crypt/Drain/Force/stuff. For example, the costly mana acceleration can easily be replaced with Rift Elemental and/or Shivan Sand-Mage , Eldrazis could turn into Magmatic Force and so on...

ill have to ask.... is it legal in commander to have a copy of your general in the deck? or is it symbolic for this deck?
November 8, 2012 9:28 a.m.
As far as I understand you've got to have 100 cards in your deck including your general.
Over here at tappedout.net most people seem to post 99 card lists without their commander whereas I just listed Jhoira with the rest of the bunch. Does that answer your question?

You should cut out lands like Shivan Reef and Izzet Guildgate since you're only playing 2 colors and mana fixing shouldn't be your problem and on top of all they're slowing you down (you already need time to bring out you suspended cards).
Don't use Eternal Dominion since your commander WILL be killed afterwards and after this you won't be able to use your commander again till the end of the game. This will cut you off of all your options and you will get very predictable since you only can and will do one thing.
Cut out Darksteel Colossus too. It's very tempting to play it with your commander but you've only got 2 mana expensive (or time expensive with your commander) options to deal with it and it will be taken control of if any player on the board has the option to do so and if you can't counter at this time you've got a problem. Don't play things you can't deal with (or can't deal with very good). The same is true for Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre .
Use Omniscience and some further heavy creatures to suspend with your Commander.

Hey Martial,
thanks for the massive input. To me, you've made a very good point on the "don't touch what you can't handle" argument, seems like a weak spot. Especially since Bribery and Acquire are around as well.
Right now, only Phyrexian Metamorph , Capsize , Cryptic Command and Devastation Tide can stop the two but still I'm kinda shying away from just cutting them.
Thinking of viable removal with CMC <=4, Chaos Warp and Withdraw come to my mind, how's your opinion on them?
Oh, and Eternal Dominion is certainly one of the less serious cards in the deck, though I've already experienced fun times together with Paradox Haze .

Chaos Warp is pretty good. Withdraw seems a bit weak from my point of view since it only delays the problem. Think about something like Spell Crumple and one of my favorites: Pongify (Nobody expects to have an ape on his side).
I'm just thinking about a commander with Jhoira too. If you want to look: deck:jhoiras-time-experiment (at the moment I'm just collecting ideas but I will start cutting the next days so the deck will take form).
One Idea I got during the idea gathering was: "How about playing a lot of extra turners since they interact with the time counters and can be suspended with Jhoira?"

I canceled to work on this deck. I don't want to copy yours and the other way to use her I thought of did not really work. But I will still comment your deck. ;-)

Hehe, I literally just hit the link that very minute to find out that you must have deleted it. :)
Playing a lot of extra turns feels always tempting and you are probably right that it would be the most consequent build to also play stuff like Savor the Moment or Walk the Aeons - it's just that people seem to be even more frustrated to loose if they did not play at all so I've stuck with just the two "walk" effects on the list.
Also I love me some Pongify since it's just hilarious, but it sadly does not solve the issue of playing with and against indestructable dudes like Darksteel Colossus once they get stolen from me.

You should consider to play more cards like Braingeyser . This way you can draw a lot of cards at once and suspend them with your commander.

I think if I saw Detrivore suspended on turn 4, I would just concede right there.

I would throw Omniscience in there. Cause who doesn't love free cards?

Me again with some suggestions:
Cut out Gemstone Caverns . It rarely will be on your starting hand.
Cut out Mana Crypt for a Thran Dynamo , Mind Stone , or Basalt Monolith . You already reveal some turns before what you play so you shouldn't give you opponents the advantage to count on some self damaging. So I would suggest to trade luck for safety.

Hey everyone, thanks for the advice - I'll try to share my thoughts on those: First of, Omniscience really seems like a must play, that one is going in here in the near future for sure.
Concerning cutting Gemstone Caverns and Mana Crypt I agree with MartialArts line of thought. However, exactly because this deck has "target#1" painted all over it, I want to be able to play Jhoira and suspend a card on the same turn as fast as possible. That's why I am almost sure Crypt is slightly superior here. I'll think about cutting the Caverns though.

If you really need the mana you can use the Mana Crypt but it is very unlikely to draw it till the 3rd turn. I would cut this out for the safety.
If you need fast mana in every case you should simply add more ramp artifacts. If you look at Mayael's Call (a deck of mine) you will find a lot of them.
Aaaaand I've got another hilarious good card for your deck! You WILL LOVE it!Braid of Fire
You will have to suspend before drawing cards if you want to use the mana from this enchantment but this will do a lot of good.
And if you add Training Grounds and Rings of Brighthearth your deck will fasten up a lot too.
December 25, 2012 1:39 p.m.
Braid of Fire was actually in the deck when I tried to build a "fair" version. And it was a blast there for sure! With the more competitive focus right now it had to go because it just takes too long to benefit from it. Same goes for Training Grounds since I only want to activate Jhoira twice anyway.
What I don't really understand is the Rings of Brighthearth . Could I not simply activate Jhorias ability for the same cost but without the rings? Other than that, it's just the two planeswalkers and a bunch of lands to copy...

Sry. Those rings lacked explanation.
For your commander you are right. This suggestion was for planeswalkers and Coalition Relic , Kher Keep , card:Minamo, School at Water's Edge, Miren, the Moaning Well and Tolaria West (for the last card I don't really know if it works).
It's not this important but consider it. Especially for the case if you implement more creatures with activatet abilities.

Wow, crazy deck. This was one of the Similar Decks when I was making my Keranos deck, and I'm glad I clicked it. But man, this thing is crazy. It just makes me want to build a hate deck with all the board wipes you took out recently :3 Anyway, great work, +1 from me. Keep on keepin' on.

My Jhoira of the Ghitu deck has Sway of the Stars in place of Worldfire . It may not be as powerful as Worldfire but with things supsended after it and seven cards in hand it is easy to win. Go ahead and look at my deck Time Mage and see if you like what I did.
