Commander / EDH Burn RG (Gruul)

Bolt them! Bolt them again! And Again! But how? Where are these Bolts coming from? You can't have more than one of a card in a commander deck. Or can you?

Presenting... (drumroll, please) ...

Borborygmos Enraged, Lord of Lightning Bolts

This is my Borborygmos Enraged EDH decks. The strategy of this deck is simple:

1) Play lands.

2) Play Borborygmos Enraged.

3) Lightning Bolt your opponents to the face at least 14 times each.

4) Bask in the glory when they realize they were just beaten by a deck that plays 85 lands.

Bonus Feature:

-Centaur Vinecrasher - A creature than can keep coming back, plus it gets bigger every time. It might have been cut, though, if it didn't have trample, because it would have been able to be chump-blocked.

- Countryside Crusher - Doesn't have trample like Centaur Vinecrasher, but it gets bigger while it's on the battlefield, so it's better early game. Also, it draws into the nonland cards that this deck plays, most of which can win the game when this happens.

- Creeping Renaissance - Can return all of my lands after they've been discarded twice. If there are enough lands in hand and graveyard, they'll never see it coming. And, if it's discarded through Borborygmos Enraged, it can still be flashbacked.

-Crucible of Worlds - Can play the lands, even after they've been discarded, so it leads to being able to play more than one of my huge spells each turn.

-Elixir of Immortality - Can you say deck reset? This is just what this card does if the game drags on and on.

-Groundskeeper - Gives me a Lightning Strike for ? Yes, please.

-Life from the Loam - With Borborygmos Enraged out, it becomes a 9 damage spell that fuels my graveyard every turn.

- Manabond - The best mana ramp in this deck, because it can get Borborygmos Enraged out as early as turn 2 or 3, depending on whether you draw a card on your first turn.

- Oath of Druids - Can get anyone of my creatures, and it fuels my graveyard. The creatures that I get this way most of the time would win the game.

-Praetor's Counsel - An eight mana spell that can reuse all my "Lightning Bolt" lands and get back all the other cards that might be in my graveyard.

-Rites of Flourishing - Not as fast as cards like Exploration or Burgeoning, but unlike those two cards, if it isn't drawn early game, it still as use as (on average) being a Lightning Bolt every turn.

- Snake Umbra - Prevents my commander from being killed, and it lets me get more bolts when I bolt a player, making it possible to win as soon as I get the combo.

- Terravore - Unlike Countryside Crusher , this creature doesn't fuel the graveyard. Unlike Centaur Vinecrasher, it can't be returned from the graveyard. Better than both of them, it isn't just lands in your graveyard and it's only three mana and still has trample.

-Whispersilk Cloak - This card gives my commander complete unblockability, and even if your opponents use Worst Fears or Mindslaver on you, if you control no other creatures, they can't bolt your Borborygmos Enraged.

Many people may say that 85 lands is too much. But I disagree. If you play around fifty or sixty lands, which is there average number I've seen in Borborygmos Enraged decks, you will probably reveal at least one nonland card when you deal damage to an opponent every time. That is why this deck only has the bare essentials other than lands and Borborygmos Enraged. Because it plays 85 lands, it will almost always get him out by turn 8, and most of the time the deck will draw into enough lands to kill your opponents. The reason I play Rogue's Passage and Kessig Wolf Run is to make it harder to block Borborygmos Enraged, so most of the time his damage gets through and you get to discard more lands. The reason this deck plays 84 basic lands is because of Groundskeeper, who can only return basic lands from your graveyard to you hand.
Warning: Do not read this if you LOVE Lightning Bolt

It has been said that Lightning Bolt is one of the greatest cards in Magic history. I'm not saying that Black Lotus or Ancestral Recall aren't good, it's just that Lightning Bolt isn't actually overpowered.

Despite the fact that it is a very favored card, this deck doesn't play it. Why, do you ask? Because in EDH a solid for 3 damage just doesn't cut it in this EDH deck. it doesn't cut it because why play a Lightning Bolt when you can play a Lightning Bolt? With Borborygmos Enraged, these: Forest Mountain become these: Forest Mountain

(Note: I know that Alternate Art cards cannot edit the text, but this doesn't actually change anything unless a player has a Humility or similar card)

Turn 0 Cards in hand: Forest, Forest, Forest, Mountain, Mountain, Mountain, and Manabond

Turn 1 Play Forest, play Manabond . End of turn, play Forest, Forest, Mountain, Mountain, Mountain.

Turn 2 Play Countryside Crusher .

Turn 3 Put the top 80 cards of your library into your graveyard with Countryside Crusher and put 80 +1/+1 counters on Countryside Crusher during your upkeep. Draw a Centaur Vinecrasher. Play a Centaur Vinecrasher with 80 +1/+1 counters on it. Attack with Countryside Crusher and kill one player.

Turn 4 Kill the other two players with Centaur Vinecrasher and Countryside Crusher .

Cards to Remove:

1) Remove Crucible of Worlds. This should cut the deck by two thirds of its price.

2) If it's still too expensive, remove Exploration and Life from the Loam.

3) If it's still too expensive, remove Manabond and Oath of Druids .

4) If it's still too expensive, remove Kessig Wolf Run, Praetor's Counsel, Terravore , and Whispersilk Cloak.

5) If it's still too expensive, remove all cards that aren't basic lands.

6) If it's still too expensive, replace Borborygmos Enraged as commander with either Ruric Thar, the Unbowed or Atarka, Wold Render.

7) If this is still too expensive, why do you play Magic?

Cards to Add:

1) Canopy Cover

2) Explore and Sudden Reclamation

3) Walking Atlas and Forest

4) Forest, Make a Wish , Crawling Sensation , and Prowler's Helm

5) Your deck should now have: 55 Forests, 44 Mountains
