So I see a handful of shuffle GY into library cards ( Piper's Melody and Elixir of Immortality ), but I was curious, why you decided not to have one of the big Eldrazi ( Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre or Kozilek, Butcher of Truth , Ulamog has indestructible so he may be more desirable?) that shuffles your GY when it goes there? Even if you don't get the cast effect, the cycle might be useful regardless, that way you don't have to rely on a non-creature spell that Atla can't hit to cycle?

Just a heads up, this list has 101 cards.

While Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre and Kozilek, Butcher of Truth are really nice for their shuffle effect, they are still way too expensive for the budget I wanted for this deck. If you already have them or can afford them, then I definitely agree that you should run them!

The deck has been fixed to have 100 cards. Thank you :)

Purphoros, God of the Forge

a way to give your commander even just 1 counter, can get you out your entire deck in 1 turn with Mirror Entity and as many other creatures as you want. As you put the Entities ability on the stack as much as you want, and cheat out your entire deck.

davidsays1 Can you please explain that more in depth? Let's say Purphoros or some other card gets a +1/+1 counter onto Atla. How does Mirror Entity then allow us to go through the entire deck? Don't we still nned to pay 2cmc for each Egg Atla creates, and need to wait to untap her? What part of this allows us to keep going through our deck to cheat in our creatures?

Pretty please, and thank you!

hecubus333 If you have infinite mana/a lot of mana you can continue it nonstop, put as many mirror entity triggers on the stack as you want, kill the eggs since they are 0/0, Atla has 1 counter so she stays, new creatures come in, mirror entities ability activates from the stack the new creatures become eggs, they die, new creatures come out, mirror entity triggers off the stack, the new creatures become eggs, repeat.

If you have purphoros he won’t die since he’s an enchantment

davidsays1 thanks for the reply. But how do you untap Atla to keep reusing her ability? I understand why she stays alive as the eggs die and are replaced by our bigger creatures, but I still am missing the part of the combo that allows us to keep going. If you or anyone else can answer that I'd really appreciate it. =)

hecubus333 you don't untap her or tap her at all, Mirror Entity turns all creatures into eggs. So all creatures that enter immediately become eggs, and die triggering her ability to put a new creature into play.

You actually don't need mana at all since you're paying 0 for mirror entities ability.

You just need to make sure Atla has a counter so she doesn't die.

Ok, you got all the combo parts already but actually did only explain 1 out of 4 infinite’s in your deck. I’ll list them in case you don’t know of them. If you add a Purphoros or Burning Sun's Avatar, and any eldrazi titans to reshuffle your grave to your deck, each of them instantly wins the game:

  • Thornbite Staff + Ashnod's Altar lets you produce infinite eggs and put all your creatures on the table. Cycling an eldrazi titan over and over kills with purphoros/burning suns triggers.

  • Runed Stalactite + Ashnod's Altar lets you cycle through your deck until you find the desired creature or killed everyone with purphoros/burning suns triggers.

  • Runed Stalactite + Mirror Entity also kills the table with purphoros/burning suns triggers when you activate entity for 0 just often enough by holding priority.

  • Mirror Entity + Ashnod's Altar lets you cycle again through your deck similar to stalactite and altar combo while also producing infinite colorless mana that can be used to make all your creatures huge with entity.

Thank you for outlining those other combos Pikobyte! You are exactly right. I actually didn't even realize one of those combos is thing. Great suggestions! While I want to stay away from eldrazi titans, I have included Burning Sun's Avatar, because that is right on theme for what I am looking for in this.

Great suggestion all around! :D
