This deck is a great multiplayer deck for those of us who do not necessarily want to win, but really love throwing a wrench in other peoples plans. A giant fucking wrench.
The most fun part about this deck in multiplayer is when you get to look your friend in the eye, and say "I want you to kill Jason over there. You shall never attack me again, deal?" And he says "ok." Then you turn to Tim and say, "Hey Tim. I don't like Jason today. I want you to kill him." And Tim says "No way man, you are going down! Your silly walls cannot hide you forever."
And that's when you say, "Well Tim... Jason is going to die for milling my
ulamog
in the last game. And you no longer have a choice in the matter. Meet Mindslaver."
Ah table politics. The greatest part about freeform multiplayer.
This deck centers around a Academy Ruins + Mindslaver
lockout in a multiplayer setting. Build up your walls to save yourself some early game damage. The combo you need, is
Galvanic Alchemist
attached to either Axebane Guardian or Overgrown Battlement. It allows for an unlimited mana combo, that can help you search your whole deck with Staff of Domination, play all your walls, and bring out the mindslaver lock. One of the most beautiful cards in this deck is Drift of Phantasms. Transmute it for ANY missing combo piece. Need Axebane Guardian? Done. Fabricate? Done.
Galvanic Alchemist
? Done. Or need that last wall to get infinite mana? Just play it.
I made proxies for my staffs because they are the most expensive card in the decklist. Once you have the staffs, the mindslaver, and the academy ruins (which you really should own it's such a good land) you are looking at like a $15 deck. The defender cards were UNBELIEVABLE cheap at my card shop.
