Yep, it's one of my favorite mechanics in the deck, pisses people off when they let a few creatures through, then they realize that fiendslayer is spreading a wave of tokens before the normal combat damage is dealt.

I have a Boros deck similar to this. Try Soldier of the Pantheon over the Boros Elite. Usually the SoP can get thru more often and the life gain usually turns your Path on even before you can play it. Also Silence is kinda terrible even as a SB. I assume its vs control decks but I would personally prefer something more universal rather than something hugely conditional.

SoP was originally in this deck but I wasn't quite feeling it, it seemed conditional based on what my opponents would be pulling out against me, where as BE is a solid threat consistently against most match ups. Silence is actually there more for aggro, if you tempo break them on a big turn like turn 4, they're strategy falls apart. It also destroys espir control, they're suddenly forced to keep a counter in hand and mana open to counter a one drop that can crush them midrange. That being said, I like to sideboard to deal with my local meta, hence why it seems a little janky.

Would you consider Silence to have any sort of relevancy to this build?

@smalley - Silence is very strong, and I've used it effectively in several matches, especially against aggro, naya midrange, and espir control. My meta is heavy into izzet burn/control right now so I've moved it out of the sideboard for now until it becomes something I can't do without.
@Red-Skull - I would love Honor of the Pure , sadly it isn't standard right now.

Chained to the Rocks and Sacred Foundry is one possibility, although not very efficient. as is Angelic Edict

@mulkers - I've actually added 2x Angelic Edict to my sideboard, it's perfect as a response to the god's as well as other large devotion bombs. So spot on with the suggestion!

Normally I can get under them before they can make a board presence. getting them to 10, or close to it, before a Supreme Verdict game one tends to seal it for me, after that they're scrambling to keep my board weak, but a Brave the Elements usually does the job to keep enough pressure to lock them down. Game 2 I side in some Rootborn Defenses and if I have that turn four for the Verdict it's game. Izzet and America can't touch me, they don't have enough removal once I make board presence.

Win before it drops lol or Celestial Flare My hand is almost always down to 1-2 cards tops by turn 7.

Gruul ramping decks can play him way faster, also Celestial Flare is really situational. Main problem about him is not monstrosity, but the fact you have a 4/4 buddy who wants and will attack every turn withtou you being able to block him.

Well if we're talking situations where I'm guaranteed to lose this one time a gust of wind blew into the shop and knocked my library to the floor which counted as scooping so I lost the game. No deck works 100% of the time.
Mono white doesn't have many options when it comes to a creature with protection from white, all I can hope for really is to have enough life gain on the field to be able to counteract the damage. Celestial Flare is my best early game option, other than that an Elspeth, Sun's Champion 's -3.

DannyG a deck with pure mana ramp and stormbreath dragons sounds situational to me, and if thats the case im pretty sure this deck would still come out on top. this is a very fast deck, and if you're only playing some elves, he'll be swinging through and gaining life, not to mention Elspeth, Sun's Champion IS a perfect answer to stormbreath dragon

Hey Monoxide, cool deck thanks for commenting on mine, I hope you wouldn't mind if I made some changes in my deck inspired by yours. At least I am assuming that's the reason you linked it to me ;)

This seems like a fairly powerful deck. I playtested it a few times and seems pretty good to me But I think you should consider putting some Frontline medics and another elspeth in there to completely seal the deal.

I was running some Frontline Medic s but I felt I was very cluttered at my three drop spot which I'm not a big fan of, so I dropped him and have been doing fine without the indestructibility. Most removal can be cast around him anyways which weakens the case for him in my eyes.
Elspeth, Sun's Champion is expensive for both my wallet and my mana curve so I'm actually liking her as a one of. She makes for a bad opening hand for the most part.

I'm sorry to say Path of Bravery only triggers Archangel of Thune once for each attack not for each attacking creature. but the synergy is still awesome. great deck +1

Monoxidechild says... #23
Never claimed it did lol by spreading a slue of counters I only meant it triggers before combat damage is dealt. Which begins the separate rounds of counter stacking for my side of the battlefield. Thanks for the +1 man!

Elspeth, Sun's Champion is one of those cards you only want one of because while she is great to draw into, having her in an opening hand is the worst, cluttering up a spot until you scrounge up 6 mana. More would be fine in a control deck, but in a fast-paced aggro there's not a lot of room for high CMC's. Once you add too many it becomes a different type of deck at that point.
P.S. I demand a reprint of Mentor of the Meek !

@Stormbringer007 Said it.
Also yeah, I'd love some hand feed up in this bitch! lol

Notice that a single creature with double strike and lifelink will trigger twice the Thune effect, making a "holy sht" attack, as all the other non-strike-twice creatures will have an extra counter before asigning damage...
(a 2/2 will kick first as 2/2 and later 3/3)
