@ AttentionDeficitDisorder Game 2 and 3 use Pithing Needle naming Pack Rat s shuts that down. I don't see why you would splash blue for Detention Sphere over red for Chained to the Rocks .
@ monoxidechild, Sunbond is sick on a life link creature how ever with the only protection on a white creature having protection from white (Blood Baron of Vizkopa ) the only creature white has that doesn't get 2 for 1 is Fiendslayer Paladin making the combo very limited plus Sunbond @ cmc of 4 makes it feel very awkward (for me the game is either won or lost at that point so it just more win which I you don't need or its too late to win the game).
Yes, I would want to see collaboration of us to get mono-white a top 8 contender using the current misfits of white cards.
(I.E. Archangel of Thune )
@ bauchsy, I would speculate that Archangel of Thune would come out for Sunbond , seeing how they sever the same function. I see sunbond being a sideboard for mono-black, RWD or rakdos decks .

Oh, monoxidechild
Revoke Existence got reprinted in Born to the Gods. I would replace Sundering Growth with it. It not insta speed nor populate but, does exile gods with out splashing a color.

Here are some results on a similar build with only a few additions; This build placed me second on a 5-2 night
White Power 2.2 Playtest
Standard
SCORE: 0 | 0 COMMENTS | 1 VIEWS- Round 1; Smashed Rakdos aggro 2-0
- Round 1; Rolled a MUD build with white splash, Soldier of the Pantheon did some work for me, trumping the multicolor creatures.
- Round 3; Gruul deck. Game one he scraped a victory by with a hot draw of a second Stormbreath Dragon , game two I crushed him by turn 6 with a Fiendslayer Paladin + Sunbond combo. I ended the game with something like 45 life. I lost the the final game to massive flooding on my side of the board. He even noted that a deck with half it's lands in hand or on the field is just trash luck.
The reason Brimaz is in the sideboard is I'd rather start the game strong with Fiendslayer Paladin and if the opponents deck isn't pure removal, I'll side him in for game 2/3. Sunbond was just something I wanted to play with, and while it is amazingly fun and funny to watch go off, it requires a Paladin in play or Heliod to be most effective. Otherwise it's just too easy to remove.
Some ideas include;
- Splashing blue for 2 drop removal, 4 drop for hand feed (Bident or the new god), and sideboarding D-Spheres.
- Splashing black for 2 drop removal, 4 drop lifegain (Whip), and either Obzedat or Blood Barron to be a prick.
- Splashing green for Bow of Nylea , focusing more on first strike, and Nylea, God of the Hunt for trample making me a beastly aggro.
- Splashing red for Boros Charm and Mizzium Mortars (literally destroys Blood Baron and Sormbreath), 4 drop Warleader's Helix .
Let me know. Give me some feedback guys; I love constructive criticism. Remember though! The 3 drop slot is currently the most important in Standard, it is when board presence is established and you see who is in control. So unless it's a power house, I won't be moving things into that slot.

What were the sideboard conditions for this deck? Also how do you deal with Blood Baron?

There truly aren't many solutions to Blood Baron available to MWD. You pretty much have Elspeth, Sun's Champion -3 or a well timed Celestial Flare . The Flares actually do rather well when you consider that I can block out other threats via first strike, then cast flare. At the time though, I was having great success with Renounce the guilds seeing as it dealt with D-spheres, Barons, and Obzedats.
This deck is currently moving towards a new build with blue splash, regrettably it will not be ready for game day this weekend.

Hey I'm a huge fan of this deck and would love to try it out, but due to real world money constraints I can't drop as much on cards. So Archangel and anything above $5 (Nyx Shrine, Planeswalkers) is out of the picture unfortunately. Is there any replacements you could suggest?

Yes, I've run this deck with no angels and it works fine. I'd suggest another Path of Bravery and 2 Sunbond in her place if it's a budget issue. Angel of Serenity is also an option, but 2 of as a max and add another land with her.

I would suggest a change of Sundering Growth for Revoke Existence . Even though it is sorcery speed, it is way better, because Gods will wreck anyone, and if you have no exile spells, you won't be able to get rid of them. This may be only for me because I face a lot of people running all sorts of Gods (Mill with Phenax, God of Deception gets pretty nasty if you can't kill him). My only problem with mono-white is you have no removal unless the creature is doing something, so anything that doesn't attack won't allow you to kill it. I wish they would give a card to kill something even if it isn't attacking or blocking, although Divine Verdict has a bit of utility, its cost is ridiculous. I think I would run something splashed just to be able to kill creatures my opponent has. Anyway I like the deck, my suggestions may not be valid, I like to make suggestions anyway.

This list, for the most part as it stands, has been retired. In the current build I use Detention Sphere in the place of sundering growth, and have had success with it. Thank you for the suggestion, I'm steadfast in the camp that multiple opinions lead to stronger builds; either because they make a good point or you have to defend your own. Constructive criticism is a fantastic opportunity to grow =D

White doesn't get much in the why of removal do to it's out of character for that color. White gets things like Pacifism for removal. That said out side of Standard when, white [unconditional] removal gets printed it see play in all formats (i.e. Swords to Plowshares and Path to Exile ).

Also, how does this deck fair against Mono Black Devotion and Mono Blue Devotion? This is what my shop runs at fnm.

Hey man, just wanted to let you know I loved this deck so much I bought the parts I was missing (wasn't much) and sleeved it up for some casual play. If you were to make this modern, what would you add? I honestly think it could be a fairly good modern deck with a couple upgrades.

I noticed you're getting mileage out of Sunbond which is FANTASTIC! My question is: what cards do you cut in order to make room for it? The cogs in this machine seem well-oiled, so I was curious as to what Sunbond kicks out.
