I try to keep it cheap on money and mana cost. Will consider non-basic lands when I've got nothing else to replace.
So far I've been quite successful with dealing a big punch with launch the fleet & playing a raise the alarm while intangible virtue is already on the board.
I see Squadron hawks as an extra mulligan oppertunity, card draw and nasty decoil. Especially when honor of the pure is on the board my opponent often switches to targeting the hawks I'm dropping for the next 2 turns while I'm actually planning to launch the fleet.
Mirran crusader is there because it can deal quite a punch, and offers me protection to black & green. It saved my ass countless times, even vs tarmogoyf.
Journey to nowhere is used because path to exile is too expensive. As I said I want this deck to stay cheap on $. I'm also experimenting with Soul Tithe to bug my opponent. I'm not sure if it's playable and should stay in the deck but I like to play it since it can be cast on non-land permanents.
I've been considering switching spectral procession for secure the wastes because it's an instant. Yet it's a bit more expensive and secure the wastes only starts becoming attractive when I've got at least 3 land compared to raise the alarm.
Imposing sovereign is currently in my main board to playtest it but I consider it to be a sideboard card vs red. I'm thinking 2x imposing sovereign & 2x grand abolisher would be nice to have in the mainboard though.
The main idea is to attack with an army of tokens ASAP, while stalling some time with the hawks and enchantment haters.
Again it's a cheap deck, and it looks simple (and is simple to play with) but so far I've had amazing wins with it and I recommend trying it out.
