Death and Taxes. Just snowball with 1 and 2 drops and finish em with the spear out. Most of the sideboard suggestions right now are Theory based. Will update as I find out what works and what doesn't.
RDW:
+1 Imposing Sovereign
+2 Celestial Flare
-3 Judge's Familiar
If devotion w/ Fanatic
+1 Banisher Priest
-1 more Judges Familiar
This match up is fairly even. Precinct Captain does tons of work, and Spear of Heliod makes sure you can always hit more than they can. They can be pretty hastey so The 4th Sovereign helps slow them down a turn. If it's the devotion based build, Banisher Priest ALWAYS helps take care of Boros Reckoner,or an active Purphoros. Judge's Familiar can give you reach but is often used to block once, and his impact is fairly weak.
BLUE DEVOTION:
+1 Imposing Sovereign
+2 Ratchet Bomb
+1 Banisher Priest
+2 Wear / Tear
-4 Judge's Familiar
-2 Gods Willing
Against a deck with tons of creatures like White Weenies, Bident of Thassa gives them a lot of card draw we can't afford to let them have, so Wear / Tear is a good choice for siding. Ratchet Bomb takes care of elemental tokens. We seldom need the spot protection that God's Willing gives. The 4th Sovereign will help against the tokens and their Frostburn Weirds. Banisher Priest can take care of Thassa, Master of Waves (and therefore all of the tokens he gives them), or the Tide Binder Mage that can occasionally shut down Dryad Militant. Again, Judge's Familiar is weak, due to never doing much other than blocking. Easily the worst match up for us pre-sideboard. And seemingly our best post-sideboard.
BLACK DEVOTION:
+3 Wear / Tear
+1 Banisher Priest
+1 Celestial Flare
-1 Brave the Elements
-4 Soldier of the Pantheon
A very challenging, but probably the most enjoyable match up. The games here are just so fun. Judge's Familiar does a lot of work here, slowing down Doom Blades and Hero's Downfall by a turn. Wear / Tear is AMAZING, shutting down devotion by getting rid of Whip of Erebos or Underworld Connections is great. Connections is almost always the target, because the games they don't have it, are the games you tend to win. Celestial Flare helps take care of Desecration Demon, and Precinct Captain & Heliod do as well. Banisher Priest is iffy for me, But I feel like it's good to take Erebos or Desecration Demon. Soldier of the Pantheon isn't as strong as it is against Blue Devotion or RDW, because those have 8+ hybrid creatures, where as this only has 4.
RG Stompies:
+2 Celestial Flare
+1 Banisher Priest
+1 Imposing Sovereign
+1 Rootborn Defenses
-2 Judge's Familiar
-2 Heliod, God of the Sun
-1 Plains
I know, it seems weird taking out the land. But Heliod is like a dead card in hand. His cmc is too high in this race, so a 22nd land isn't really needed. The best hope is too make Polukranos, Arbor Colossus, and other stompies come in tapped so you can keep forcing your way in. Shrine to Nykthos is their BFF, and they can get out some crazy turn 4's, and Banisher Priest helps slow that down. The Celestial Flares are great for taking care of Stormbreath and everything else that can swallow our little guys whole. Though you can't take huge hits all the time, Spear of Heliod's killing ability will come in handy. This and Selesnya are the decks I've yet to go against (with this build, at least), so my guess on this aren't as good. But this seems to be the deck to watch out for. It can most likely can be won, so long as you are making really smart decisions.
Selesnya Aggro:
+1 Imposing Sovereign
+1 Rootborn Defenses
+2 Frontline Medic
-4 Judge's Familiar
Before white weenies, I played Selesnya Aggro. So I know a bit about how to take care of it. When I was playing the mirror, Soldier of the Pantheon won me games. He does a lot of work. The Judge's Familiar are (again) weak due to being blockers and nothing more. Imposing Sovereign makes flashing in Advent of the Wurm pretty bad. Everything in your deck is smaller than theirs, so Frontline Medic and Rootborn Defenses help you swing safely, and potentially force them into making bad decisions. I feel very confident in this match up. Fleecemane Lion is a pretty solid threat though.
Esper Control:
+1 Rootborn Defenses
+1 Renounce the Guilds
+1 Glare of Heresy
+2 Frontline Medic
-1 Brave the Elements
-2 Banisher Priest
-2 Dryad Militant
Easily our best match up. I have yet to lose against it. Soldier of the Pantheon and Judge's Familiar are SO solid in this. Precinct Captain almost makes it seem like I'm overextending when I pump out tokens, and it forces Supreme Verdict, when I can swing in with Mutavault a turn or 2 later. Frontline does more than Banisher Priest in this because it answers Sphinx's Revelation. Glare of Heresy answers Elspeth and Detention Sphere, and Renounce the Guilds answers D Sphere too. This one is almost a guaranteed win, but it should be noted you HAVE TO take care of Ashiok the moment she's on the field.
Any advice would be very appreciated!
