Venzakid, that's not an issue until March 2016. Don't worry about it yet. We will have two new sets of cards by then, I'm sure we'll have some options.

How about this card Boiling Earth , is it dangerous for this deck ?
October 12, 2015 10:50 a.m.
Most decks will run maybe 2 copies on Boiling Earth in the sideboard. As with anything that could wipe the board (Languish, Crux of Fate, Radiant Flames, Rising Miasma, etc.) you just need to play smart and play around them. Instead of dumping your hand onto the battlefield, play a few creatures and leave a few in hand. Get in as much damage as possible prior to the board wipe, then start rebuilding your board presence.
There a lots of threats to this style of deck, but they are not insurmountable.

what about Aven Sunstriker or Aven Skirmisher both warriors with evasion
October 12, 2015 12:44 p.m.
Aven Skirmisher isn't a bad one-drop. It's outclassed by the other one-drops in the deck, though. If I had a way to get counters on it regularly, I'd be more inclined to incorporate it.
I had Aven Sunstriker in the deck for a few minutes, but removed it when I realized it has zero synergy with Arashin Foremost. Also, it's megamorph cost is a little expensive. The deck has better things to do with five mana.

Beats my midrange deck pretty good. It was struggling with the elf deck though, once I could gain a little life and start drawing those eyeblight massacres and extra card draw, you began to run short on threats. I bet a little extra card draw would help remedy that.

I judge budget decks by the number of rage-quits they garner. Just went 9 and 1 on mtgo with four rage-quits, one of which asked "don't you have anything better to do than play a bunch of random 1 drops?" Love it!

StUrzasBeard, card draw would benefit the deck, but the white cantrips available are not as valuable as the current spell list.
tomidabro, Oh yes! \m/

So cool. I'm going to build this deck. How have you performed with this deck at FNM and such? Thank you!

i get that its zero synergy but foremost only buffs one, so having multiple double strikers seems good, especially if you were to use Citadel Siege
October 13, 2015 1:15 a.m.
thechusenone, I haven't piloted it at FNM yet. I have received reports that similar decks have performed very well at FNM. I have built the successor to "The Inevitable Return of the Great White Weeine" on MTGO, and I am happy to say it is performing really, really well.
JamestheJoo, I'll work in a few Aven Sunstriker in my testing on MTGO and see how it performs. There's a good chance the 3-drop flyer could be a good fit.

Good god, 140 votes. What's wrong with you people.
THANKS!

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS ON GETTING #1!!!
Secondly, after looking at the list, I'm wondering if you really need 16 1-drops. In the (admittedly few) playtests I did, I found myself getting way too many and running out of cards as a result (as well as finding my threats didn't measure up after a couple turns).
I'd definitely recommend either taking a few out (the Expedition Envoys in particular) or shoving in copy or two Mastery of the Unseen for artificial fuel or doing both (I'd personally do both).
Also, Silkwrap is looking pretty good with how the overall meta is developing so I like that you have it.
Anyway, deck's looking great! Again, congrats!

Thanks, Phelgming! When I started this deck, it was around the framework of previous white weenie decks: lots of Savannah Lions. With play testing and feedback from others, it's starting to look like 12 one drops may be sufficient to stay aggressive and still be able to flip Kytheon, Hero of Akros Flip often enough.
Since this deck is blowing up, I don't want to drastically alter it. Hence, The Inevitable Return of the Great White Deck.

So I'm a big fan of this deck. I tried a b/w warrior deck and just wasn't happy with it. I think a combination of 4 silkwrap, 4 suppresion field, and 3 valorous stance is a good starting point. They cover both ends of early to midgame. I have plans to pick up the last few things and start testing as I am going to GP Indy.

I would like to hear your opinion on switching out Mardu Woe-Reaper for Topan Freeblade?
October 14, 2015 11:47 a.m.
Mardu Woe-Reaper is the better choice for this deck.
It has Warrior synergies. It can gain double strike on turn 3 with Arashin Foremost. It can exile creatures from graveyards whenever it or another Warrior enters the battlefield for incidental lifegain.
It is a one-drop. It gets in for damage faster than a two-drop. It can help Kytheon, Hero of Akros Flip flip as early as turn 3.
In this alternate version of the deck, I'm currently testing Herald of Dromoka. It gives all Warriors vigilance and synergizes (is that a word?) with Arashin Foremost and Mardu Woe-Reaper. With the exception of not being a renown creature, it outclasses Topan Freeblade in this deck.
October 14, 2015 12:27 p.m.
I apologize, as Expedition Envoy would have been a much better example to replace, but I do see your point that damage comes quicker and kytheon flips faster. In your opinion whats the best use for gideon in this deck? A double strike combo, loss of enemy blockers, or invicible creatures?
October 14, 2015 1:54 p.m.
Gideon, Battle-Forged Flip's usage is always situational. The default move is to untap a creature and make it indestructible to protect him. Once you have an even or slightly ahead board state, you can begin to 0 him to make him a 4/4 indestructible threat.
I usually only +2 him if there's a threat that will kill me next turn, or I need to clear the way for damage to get through.

Might want to think about Hidden Dragonslayer. Lifelinker and his megamorph ability is a good way to get a quick little field advantage for combat or what have you. Plus he's a warrior and hence provides another target for Arashin Foremost. Personally i like the combat synergy you can have with these two. And at that, the slayer does well on his own.

I almost have all the cards now, start the testing by tomorrow. It seems a really Nice deck!!I likte the Way it's really aggro. but a few outs for late game. How is the card draw with all those one-drops??How is It dealing against boardwhipes?
October 15, 2015 11:47 a.m.
The card draw late-game can be tough with so many one-drops. I've switched development to this deck; it feels like a more robust build for mid-to-late game.
With anything that could wipe the board (Languish, Crux of Fate, Radiant Flames, Rising Miasma, etc.) you just need to play smart and play around them. Instead of dumping your hand onto the battlefield, play a few creatures and leave a few in hand. Get in as much damage as possible prior to the board wipe, then start rebuilding your board presence afterwards.
