Ever since I bought Odric's 2013 Intro Deck I dreamed to get as much as I could from the original idea (since I liked a lot the "Human Soldier" archetype) making it a more competitive deck.
When I got to know about Honor of the Pure and Field Marshal, I decided to create a deck completely revolving around them that could give justice to the original Odric deck (with which I lost most of the games with my newbies friends). It is unexpensive (should cost less than 30 $) and not completely useless (I actually manage to win more than a bunch of duels in my local meta).
The 8 cc1 soldiers and Brave the Elements are self-explanatory in this type of deck. The 4x of Fencing Ace and 4x of Raise the Alarm are there to double the "+1/+1" bonuses given by HotP and the Marshal. The White Orchid Knights are there simply because I like the mana ramp idea (they would be much more appreciated if they were soldiers), whilst the Preeminent Captains are used to cheat into game either lords or empowered soldiers (like Fencing Aces). Oust is a cheap cc1 removal alternative to Path to Exile, and in some cases the former can be better than the latter.Odric is there simply because of affection, but I must admit it let me win some battles.
The remaining 3x of cc2 soldiers is quite variable: Kor Aeronauts allow me to keep some control of the flying zone, whilst Precinct Captains force the enemy to either sacrifice a creature or get overwhelmed by numbers. Elite Inquisitors are beasts against Vampires, Zombies and Werewolves (there are 5 of them in my local meta) and I also have Longbow Archers, which may do some good against flying-heavy decks, which are not present amongst my friends.
This is it, if you have any suggestion about how to improve this deck I'm ready to listen u_u
