Have you played with this deck, yet? Or is this just a brew to get ideas going?

thanks for all the comments, reviews, upvotes, whatnot!

@ Zelan87- turn 2 Syncopate is pretty much a Stymied Hopes . turn 3-5 i want to be playing creatures. turn 6 and later, it'll be harder to counter stuff with the opponent having that many lands. this is why i prefer the scry on stymied hopes. however, i cannot give you a concrete answers as i play little to none magic (kinda died out in our playgroup)

@ ch_bu13- Elixir of Immortality seems unnecessary. it's not vital and it takes up space which is needed for other cards.

@ tekn0- well, like VinylScratch said, i can stop the combo anytime so that i wouldn't have to deck myself but from a different viewpoint, games would never end with a true infinite combo.

@ CornRecce- this is just a brew. like i mentioned above, i don't play magic too much anymore.

@ VinylScratch- for Vorel of the Hull Clade , my answer is the same as Elixir of Immortality . both are unecessary. vorel would be a win more card

I imagine this is pretty difficult to pull off. To have all three cards on the board at the same time and not have the opponent burn, kill, bounce, exile, or counter (when one of them ETB) one link in this combo is probably quite rare. Regardless, hilariously awesome combo that would be a ton of fun to play.

+1 for creativity.

DEAR GOD MAN. Well done. You must have an interesting diary. Wake up, eat breakfast, death, death, death, death, death, lunch, death death death, afternoon tea, death death death death, quick shower...

It's a good thing the card draw for Fathom Mage is optional, otherwise this deck is suicidal. Much appreciation.

OK Guys, for all of you giving props to his "Awesome idea" and "great use of creativity" He did not invent this combo, it's all over the internet being talked about. As long as he at least made the list himself it looks pretty solid though, but I just think some people are so naive around here. Nice deck.

I once made a suicidal draw card combo using Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind and Tandem Lookout it goes infinite on your next draw and mills you out. Not sure if you win when your oponent hits zero or if it continues to mill till you lose.

This is the first I've heard of it. Still, my statement is more or less directed towards the deck itself.

Yeah Itzmogz as my earlier comment said i seen the combo on reddit.com at least a week befor theros was even released. But putting it into a deck is different than just coming up with a combo.

Well to me, after really looking this deck has a ton of flaws to be honest. And the first being in the comments, Tempest it shows your lack of experience calling Syncopate weak.

8 mana dorks is not necessary in this build, 4 instead would suffice, Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx is pointless here and even if you had 1/2 of all your creatures on the field you would barely get value for a couple extra mana, and on top of that you have nowhere to sink any extra mana anyways.

Stymied Hopes is just a horrible card and should not be put into a constructed deck EVER.

The deck has no draw power other then 3x Azorius Charm , which is not enough. (obviously I'm not counting the combo going off, instead getting TO the combo)

And lastly the sideboard seems like a big mess. Sorry to sound so critical but isn't that how we get better at the game, learning from others.

My recommendations to strengthen this deck would be...

-1 island, -1 forest, -2 nykthos, -3 Stymied Hopes , -4 Elvish Mystic +4 Temple of Mystery +1 plains (24 land in this) +3 Loxodon Smiter +3 Urban Evolution

Sideboard

-1 AEtherling , -2 Psychic Spiral , -2 Swan Song +3 Syncopate +2 Rootborn Defenses

That's what I think personally at least, take what you will from it, cheers.

pretty cool deck. have you considered maybe siding Unflinching Courage or another quick trample? so you can still 1 shot your opponent with the angel even if they have flying defense.

I feel I should point out that it isn't an infinite combo. Getting all three on the field, with mana ramp, can be done by what, turn ten? That leaves you with 50 cards to draw from. And while drawing 50 cards, gaining 50 life, and gaining 50 +1/1 tokens is a lot, it can't technically be done infinitely.

@ thatPUNKdude, TheOne4221- thanks for the support!

@ Felixlives- lol. add in that Laboratory Maniac and you're set to go!

@ Itzmogz- yeah its not my deck but you could at least go along with the trend, right? :P lol jkjk. also, thank you for pointing out my lack of experience. 'tis true that i don't play competitive or standard and hardly any casual. therefore, please answer my following questions: why should i take out my mana dorks for more lands and a more expensive ramp? if Urban Evolution is more fore the draw power, why not Sphinx's Revelation to help me recover from my weak early game? and lastly, why would i take out my only counter spell for another creature which i already have plenty of? i hope you don't take these offensively or as a challenge to your knowledge; i genuinely want to know these answers. thanks! as for the others, i don't like land coming in tapped especially in a 3 color deck with a 3-piece combo. i do like your sideboard suggestions, so i'll make them as soon as i finish this post. whew! that was long.

@ zachofpotatoes- i was thinking the same thing but Selesnya Charm instead of Unflinching Courage .

@ kyuuri117 and every other technical guy out there- i added a part in the description that you can read and then comment if you still don't like it

The deck is practically entirely blue. Counter spells galore

Tapped out at the time. Used my last mana for a draw card spell to spark the combo.

Ok, first question you ask why remove some mana dorks for moreLand and expensive ramp? The reason for this is because mana dorks are not considered consistent mana as they are susceptible to removal and sweepers. You run AEtherling x2 in the main board and he needs actual land like 7 at the bare minimum to be played. And yes, because drawing 3 cards on turn 4 with a Sylvan Caryatid is real draw power and dropping a 5th land then is also a real play. Sphinx's Revelation is amazing, but I feel in this deck the turn 4/5 draw 3 and drop another land better suits the deck. The reason for removing the counterspells (well putting them in the sideboard) is exactly that, because you have a weak early game and loxodon smiter can shut down hyper aggro pretty easily by himself and especially paired with a Sylvan Caryatid and Voice of Resurgence . I would still go with the 4x Temple of Mystery as scry from a land is quite a relevant bonus and nykthos as I mentioned is useless in this deck. Of course there could be further tweaking after more playing, things like cutting 4 creatures and having 2 counter spells and 2 Rootborn Defenses main could also be an idea. Hope that answers te questions, cheers! I'll give it a +1PS - I wrote this on my phone and don't wanna proof read, autocorrect may have hit me somewhere lol.

You should probably post something about how you took this deck straight off of Wizards' website.

Since we're supposed to post where we got a deck if it wasn't our idea and all.

Maybe Urban Evolution could help you draw into your combo and play an extra land. It too is a 5 drop but if you dont draw into your combo you arent gonna give a shit.
