I played a deck like this at fnm and I played fog then won. The deck I used isn't posted on tap out yet. I really like the concept. +1 from me

I like that each of the combo pieces are powerful with just two of them so you only need two to get a massive advantage.

It was my understanding that Pithing Needle only works on cards that required only tapping to activate an ability. So mana activated abilities were not effected? Am I misunderstanding the text? Or does "mana abilities" mean cards like Elvish Mystic ?

October 11, 2013 10:52 p.m.

Pithing Needle stops all activated abilities of the named permanent. Activated abilities are abilities that are activated by the player, and are always written as

  [Cost]: [Effect]

The abilities on Sensei's Divining Top , Zombie Infestation , and Deathrite Shaman are all activated abilities.

Mana abilities are activated abilities that produce mana, and don't do anything else. Elvish Mystic and Forest both have mana abilities. The first ability of Deathrite Shaman is also a mana ability.

This should have infinite infinite combos.

I'm not a huge fan of infinite combos in general. At least I'd never play one myself unless I decided that I wanted to win a PTQ, or the combo was hilariously complex and fun. That being said, this one is very fun looking and isn't dramatically OP. Also, kudos for making an infinite Standard combo. +1

i was suprised i had the cards in my collection to actually put this together and i took it to my LHS to try it out. just for fun i put in 2x Whip of Erebos since mine had 4x Sylvan Caryatid . i only got to play a few games with it but i was able to get out the whip with the archangel once. i've got a question - does the archangel trigger twice since you gained life from lifelink from the archangel and also from the whip? that would give the angel double lifelink right? i was drawing 2 cards from fathom mage and gaining 2 life from horizon chimera

I've added in Glare of Heresy for white permanent / enchantment and thune removal. I found it works wonders covers those pesky angels with flying as well as enchantments or other white creatures ...reckoners, fiendlsayers etc. white is heavy in my meta btw
