Jund Burn

Prototype brew

The idea behind this is to outpace normal direct player burn. On turn 4 this deck is capable of doing 28 damage, 14 directly to the opponent and 14 via a creature.

Use Varolz to scavenge Deaths shadow onto Silhanna Ledgewalker and then use Souls Fire.

To do this, youll have to play a land every turn and play Varolz by turn on turn 3. So it isnt foolproof, but it is definitely doable.

Varolz and Fling work great paired with cards like Deaths Shadow, Vexing Devil, and other huge creatures with low mana costs and high power. You can exchange out for a good variety of cards that fit that description and the deck still works.

Why I chose vexing devil? If your opponent lets it hit the field you can fling it, then use Varolz to turn it into 4 counters. If they take the damage, you still can use varolz or treasured find to bring the threat back and produce damage.

Deaths Shadow and Varolz has been a focus of mine for a while, and it works in other decks that I have tried it in situationally. I think this might be the best though.

Abrupt decay and Dreadbore get rid of creature threats, artifacts, planeswalkers, you name it.. so theyre great utility for the deck.

Im still optimizing cards for the build, so if you have suggestions let me know.

Thanks!
