You can use Freed from the Real to untap stuff.

This deck is amazing, but I'm a little confused:

on turn three, when Gyre Sage is evolved, it would be a 3/4 creature. How then would playing Master Biomancer evolve Gyre Sage again? If my math is right, Master Biomancer's power or toughness wouldn't be enough to trigger Gyre Sage.I'm curious to see if I made a mistake somewhere, but again, this deck is incredibly powerful and looks to be a lot of fun!

@KeelHaul10 thanks for that catch, you were right. It changed the outcome a little bit but not a lot. I've updated the stax mechanix. The deck is a ton of fun to play :D I played it in my play group a few days back against a red white burn deck. They tried to Lightning Bolt my Gyre Sage but the massive ability to produce +1/1 counters prevented all of his burn.

One of the best mechanix in this deck is to use Ooze Flux to drain all of the counters off each Renegade Krasis each time I'm able to (and its safe to). It makes it so I'm guaranteed to get his evolve trigger and his second trigger so that I can always be growing Gyre Sage so I can make even more oozes and servos each turn.

@-Orvos- Ahh I see how Ooze Flux is a powerhouse in this deck! I truly do have an appreciation for decks that don't break the bank but absolutely break faces, and this deck does just that! +1

Panharmonicon?? Would that trigger the evolve mechanic a second time and then trigger Harden Scales a second time?

December 9, 2016 11:58 a.m.

-Orvos- says... #6

@gearturner27 it would do exactly that!!!!

(so long as the creature that ETB was still larger after the first evolv).

That is a beautiful card.... I must add it!!!

Elusive Krasis is expensive and barely does anything. And how often has Cyclonic Rift been useful? Add Hardened Scales and maybe Experiment One or Vorel of the Hull Clade instead.

At a minimum it would trigger the harden scales a second time, if the evolve is too large to trigger again. I think it would also trigger Master Biomancer's ETB effect as well.

And if you threw budget out the window and played Doubling Season it would trigger that a second time, which would be nuts.

Create a servo token with 2 +1/+1 counters on it, trigger Doubling Season, make a second token with 2 +1/+1 counters on it, trigger Doubling Season second ability adding 2 more +1/+1 counters to each servo, then trigger Panharmonicon, create 2 more tokens with 2 +1/+1 counters on it, trigger Doubling Season second ability again, if I stacked that correctly. Which then I think would just be infinite servos with 4 +1/+1 counters on them lol

@ hunkers ya I rarely use Cyclonic Rift I've been considering removing it i just didn't know what for but Vorel of the Hull Clade seems like a very good one. Easily double the counters on a Gyre Sage. As for Elusive Krasis (EK) yes he costs 3 to get out but he is a 0/4 . 3 of the creatures in this deck ETB as 0/1, 2 of them can evolve. EK will evolve those 2, he is a 0/4 blocker against agro, he can't be bolted, he has unblockable and can grow very easily so he could be my only attacker if needs be, and he will evolve if a servo comes into play which in this deck is a very big deal. So he actually does a lot :)

@gearturner27 Master Biomancer, Doubling Season, and Hardened Scales are all replacement effects so the would not be effected by Panharmonicon. Hardened scales would only go a second time because the evolve would happen twice.

Another quick note about Elusive Krasis he will evolve every creature in this deck with evolve and that's a well spent 3 mana.

Would you feel there's any room to splash colors? The only reason I ask is Retribution of the Ancients is a thing and is also a very powerful removal engine in the right build.

-Orvos- says... #13

@TheRedGoat Retribution of the Ancients does essentially the same thing as Simic Manipulator except simic manipulator does it in a blue way :D. He costs a little more to get out, but he has evolv, and instead of killing the creature I take control of it. In the end its the same result, the threat is removed. Although now its my threat, for just a little more mana.

This is amazing. By any chance have you gotten to play this competitively?

lotusofblackness I havent been able to do any tournaments yet sadly.

I have played it against my casual play group though and the response has been them all looking at each other then saying "I can't do anything to stop it...".

Its one of those decks that you don't see what's going to happen until it does... I still need to make a sideboard for it and put things like Remand, Counterspell, and Cyclonic Rift in it so it can protect itself more easily.

Haha that's great. Love the deck man

Careful about neverending combos. They instantly draw the game.

December 28, 2016 2:02 p.m.

-Orvos- says... #24

@hunkers is there a never ending loop combo in this deck?

I'm fairly certain there isn't. Because you have to pay mana in order to keep the chain of events rolling. But if I missed something please point it out.

loopsorspool says... #25

I'd suggest playing Crystalline Crawler in Gyre Sage's place. It is more more mana, but the combo that drives the deck goes infinite.
