Trust me man, make this Standard. It will not do well in Modern. You have 8 cards that you can replace easily, just make it Standard and it will do much, much better.

pantseater What would you recommend I replace the older cards with if I move to standard?

Maybe make all of your creatures 3-ofs and make Mizzium Mortars a 3-of?

Chandra, Pyromaster is standard and she can help with her 0 habilty to play an extra card each turn.

Evnicar that is true! I haven't been luck enough to pull her but she would be really swell with this deck type.

Izzet decks rock! The only problem I have with this deck is that you rely very heavily on multicolor creatures, but your mana base is pretty weak. Steam Vents and Temple of Epiphany could help, but they are pretty expensive. Maybe you should consider using Young Pyromancer over Fluxcharger (if you want to focus a little more on red). All told, though, great take on Izzet!

gregtheestablisment yeah I know what you mean; I want more Shivan Reef and better red/blue lands, but I haven't had the funds to get some. Will get eventually though! I tried Young Pyromancer in a couple of earlier versions of this and found him and his tokens got killed by board wipes pretty easily. I would rather save all my instants for Fluxcharger and cyclops swings (after making sure Fog wont be an issue) for a more reliable win con. Also, I gave the four I had to one of my friends and I am currently broke. XD Thank you for the advice though!

Nivmagus Elemental and Young Pyromancer completely dominated my friends when i made a similar deck a while ago... also Teleportal is a good way to buff your dudes and also make them unblockable for an easier win and Titan's Strength is a good way to get a whole lot of damage at someone

mcnagnog: Nivmagus Elemental is absolutely a certified baller in the right kinda deck, but the problem with him in this deck is that he takes away a lot of the potential graveyard instants and sorceries that could buff Spellheart Chimera by exiling them. Young Pyromancer is also cool, but all my friends play stuff like Anger of the Gods and I am so sick of loosing to that card XD. I know the unblock-able and buff elemental plan you are talking about though, it just fits a more aggressive izzet type deck that I don't have the means to build right now. But thank you very much for the recommendations!

i would throw in a few counter spells in the sideboard if not the main board. Counterflux is huge in a control matchup

EnigmaEthos I guess counterspells would be a better option if I wanted to play more defensively; thanks.

no problem, adds some more versatility to your deck. Altac Bloodseeker is also a nice beater once all your RTR block stuff rotates. Just food for thought.
