Hi man, I've really liked your deck. I've been testing this deck with some changes, instead of using Elvish Mystic I'm using Gyre Sage s , I know it's a 2-drop, but it makes a very useful mana-combo with Kiora's Follower and its evolve makes it big in mid-game. The only trouble about it is that it's slow, I'm only able to ramp mana on the 4th turn. But I see it like an alternative to Nyktos, normally, when I don't get a Nyktos I'm at least able to drop a Sage, so the ramp is almost certain. Have you ever tried it?

I'm glad you like the deck.

I haven't tried Gyre Sage . I faced the same problem just looking at it as you: It's too slow. Ramping for 1 on the 3rd turn isn't nearly good as ramping for 1 on the 2nd turn, which you can do with Elvish Mystic . And I don't need as much mana late game when Gyre Sage is useful. If I were to cut something for Gyre Sage s, I would cut Sylvan Caryatid since Elvish Mystic is one of the best cards in the deck, as it gives a T1 play, ramps, is a reasonable T2 play, and can go in and attack if needed. Caryatid is one of the worst dorks I've found. The fact that it can't go on the offensive or trade in combat is HUGE.

I like your deck a lot. I think this deck was built very well. You might consider Garruk, Caller of Beasts because your playing so many creatures.

March 8, 2014 10:44 p.m.

Garruk, Caller of Beasts seems quite good here... Hmm. What should I cut?

Could you drop one Arbor Colossus and one Prophet of Kruphix to run 2 Garruk, Caller of Beasts ?

March 9, 2014 6:20 p.m.

I want to keep 2 Prophet of Kruphix since it's just so good and I want to be able to draw it pretty often and Arbor Colossus is one of my main bombs and I really need 4 of him. I think -1 Prime Speaker Zegana , -1 something else since Garruk draws cards just like Prime Speaker.

I actually meant Courser of Kruphix not the prophet. But I would have reconsidered that anyway because that too is a main part of your deck. Maybe move Scavenging Ooze to sideboard or something? I like the Prime Speaker Zegana idea but I'm not sure what else to really move as every other card fills a certain role.

March 9, 2014 7:56 p.m.

Yeah that's my problem too. The Scavenging Ooze is really just another threat since I felt I didn't have enough. I could cut Kiora, the Crashing Wave down to 2, but she's sooo good most of the time.

What about just dropping both Prime Speaker Zegana ? I know she can be a late game bomb but it seems to me that Garruk, Caller of Beasts would just be better because he would never not be helpful.

His +1? Almost all of your deck is creatures.

His -3? See my first point and also free Polukranos, World Eater that you can then monstrous right away? Yes please

His Ult? Um.....I'd say Good Game probably 75% of the time.

Even if you never get to his ult getting through your deck faster with his first ability is justification enough. All of this is obviously just a theory and only IMHO

March 9, 2014 8:46 p.m.

The problem I have with Garruk, Caller of Beasts is that he can't go into the red zone when he needs to. And he can't help me dig for a game-breaking Cyclonic Rift . I really want to keep one Prime Speaker. Is it worth it just to run 1 Garruk?

Bellock86 says... #11

I would have to say probably not. When he would show up it would be awesome but unfortunately as a 1 of he wouldn't show up often

March 9, 2014 9:04 p.m.

That's actually kind of what I want. I want him to not always show up but when he does take over the game. I think I'm going to do -1 Prime Speaker, -1 Kiora once I get a few Garruks.

I actually think that would work well. Then you get an equal chance to draw either of the walkers you run and either one is great.

I said... lol... I'll plus one but multiple wipes and creature kill destroy this...

March 10, 2014 12:54 a.m.

@Calavon Thanks for the +1 and positive feedback!

March 10, 2014 7:13 p.m.

Bellock86 says... #16

@Calavon ~ true but that's the whole point behind running 4 of the most important creatures so that recovering from a wipe is possible. Also not overextending your resources is key here which, based off of how the deck is constructed, I have a feeling InconspicuousPotato has accounted for.

March 10, 2014 7:36 p.m.

Yeah, ignore my sarcasm. Just read what Bellock said. Multiple wipes and removal won't kill you if you don't overextend and hold back a few of your big dudes until you think your opponent doesn't have any more removal/wipes. And running a large amount of threats also helps because you can often have more threats than your opponent has removal. And Planeswalkers are HUGE in those match-ups since your opponent likely wont have many creature to pressure them.

I think I would prefer Simic Charm over the Nylea's Disciple in the sideboard

March 13, 2014 11:39 p.m.

Why is that? The aggro match up is terrible and Nylea's Disciple helps that out a bunch.

March 14, 2014 10 a.m.

juicytoot says... #20

Aggro matchups can be fixed with low-cost creatures in sideboard, taking out Kiora, the Crashing Wave against RDW and putting in some Cloudfin Raptor , Shambleshark and Experiment One .

March 15, 2014 3:16 p.m.

I don't want to change the deck post board and make it an aggro deck, I just want to make the match-up better. Transformational sideboards are very streamlined and good against few decks.

March 15, 2014 3:50 p.m.

Razzohr says... #22

Nylea man, she survives supreme verdicts, and if you can pop a few creatures to get the devotion back up you can swing in with her straight away

March 18, 2014 1:44 a.m.

Already in my maybeboard. What should I cut?

March 18, 2014 9:50 a.m.

Aech says... #24

Well that depends on how many Nylea, God of the Hunt you plan to play. You could take a Mistcutter Hydra out of mainboard and put it in the side board, then take out one of the Rapid Hybridization for it. That leaves you space for one Nylea, God of the Hunt to fill. It's up to you but as no one had answered what to take out for her I thought I would try :)
