yeah, I have considered putting it back in. a Third wrath spell is important. Cuts have become so tough.

I don't know if you have considered it but I play a prossh token deck and Ogre Battledriver has done me wonders by giving all the tokens haste and the +2/+0 scales good with ally tokens. With your deck him plus ur commander is +4/+0 and haste not including any anthems u have. Also Mycoloth can eat a couple tokens and spew out many more.

I have. I do need more haste enablers. I'll definitely look into getting him in.

This feels very much like a Mayael the Anima deck but with a less known and targeted commander. It seems really fun to play, although it's curve seems a little problematic upon first look. To me it reads as a 'goodstuff' deck, which I really like, but I feel it lacks some ramping consistency; don't you?

It does. Ramping is such a hard thing to do at times with this deck. I've been tweaking it for months and I've had success with it at times. Unfortunately, I play against a lot of control and combo players, I am not really a fan of either.

I'm looking to the new set to hopefully improve my mana issues and overall speed of the deck.

Well snotice, the thing is, you're light on ramp spells. And with the quantity of high cmc creatures you have, some cheats would go a long way. I shall list a few: Elvish Piper, Quicksilver Amulet, Garruk, Caller of Beasts and Summoning Trap. If you have recursion, See the Unwritten can be very good.

On the mana doubler side, where's Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger? If you have him with hexproof, then things will probably go your way (it's better if you have him alongside Avacyn, Angel of Hope + Archetype of Endurance, another great duo for Tooth and Nail).

And last but not least, the ramp spells. Ranger's Path, Hunting Wilds and Nature's Lore. They all will get your dual lands and fix your mana early on. On the creature side, Somberwald Sage is a Gilded Lotus with a body. It's a must on decks like this. Karametra's Acolyte would also work with minor changes on the list.

I'm sure those changes and some fine tuning will really accelerate your game and give you the consistency you want.

arthurxisde:

I'm stubborn and still holding out on Avacyn, Angel of Hope's price to move down to around $15. I love angels (as evidence by my creature selection), but she is still pretty high in monetary cost.

Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger: I do own a single copy, but I have yet to put him in the deck due to my playgroups' disdain for the card. I would probably play him otherwise.

I love Elvish Piper & Quicksilver Amulet! Don't own either, but will look to possibly investment in one of them to help this deck out.

Ranger's Path is nice, but I prefer Explosive Vegetation. I will look into it, nonetheless. On the contrary, Hunting Wilds is a little too mana intensive for me. I've thought for a good while of investing in Nature's Lore. It's a great ramp card!

Somberwald Sage is a great creature ramper, but I feel is not well-suited for the structure of this deck.

Garruk, Caller of Beasts & Summoning Trap: Great cards that I see as being better utilized in even more green focused decks.

Some cards I am looking to invest in:

Nissa, Vastwood Seer  Flip

I'm sure Master Warcraft would be awesome to play on an opponent's turn with his creatures buffed by Gahiji, Honored One. You could use this to your advantage ... Or Fight to the Death. Other great options includes Ride Down - Naya Charm - Intimidation Bolt - Arcbond... maybe Glory of Warfare ?

Master Warcraft is one of my favorite Boros instants. I'll have to think of what it can go in the place of.

Fight to the Death: with tokens or when it is not my turn would be nasty. I'll have to think about that one too.

Ride Down, Naya Charm, Intimidation Bolt: better in one vs one matchups, not as potent in mutliplayer, which I mostly play.

Arcbond: Interesting card that I don't know how to work to my advantage yet. In addition, I'm not too much of a fan of hitting myself too much because I tend to get targeted with all the strong creatures I put out.

Glory of Warfare: Now that is an awesome card! I might move it in place of Heliod, God of the Sun. We'll see!

Thank you for the suggestions. The Boros guild always reminds me of the Spartans. 'FOR SPARTA!'

Welcome to the Dark Side. We've been expecting you. Ye ole Naya Charm?

For card draw, I've found that Harmonize, Elemental Bond and Soul of the Harvest do pretty well.

Additionally, I find your lack of Evolving Wilds disturbing.

Have you considered From Beyond instead of Awakening Zone?

November 2, 2015 11:28 p.m.

snotice says... #15

yes and I do own the card. I don't like not having any use for the second ability though. 3 G for a 1/1 each upkeep that can sac for mana is good though. I'll think about it, but it would probably be an add in more than a replacement. Thanks for the suggestion!

I love Gahiji. To make it more painful for opponents to attack you (and make them want to attack each other instead), include Michiko Konda, Truth Seeker. Also, help one opponent and hurt another with Null Chamber. It's all about the politics.

I have for a while thought of getting Michiko Konda, Truth Seeker. I will look into investing in her soon enough. thanks for the suggestion!

Have you looked at Rite of the Raging Storm? Seems like it might be a natural for Gahiji.

I have not. I'll look into it for the deck. Thanks for the suggestion, upvote and compliment. I've learned a lot about how to win with this deck and what is and is not effective.

I saw your note about looking for effective graveyard removal. I got some really good advice a few weeks ago over on this thread, and wanted to pass it along.

snotice,
Wow, but I love this deck! I haven't stopped by in a while, and it's cool to see the evolution.

Looking at your line "Playing the Angels, Dragons and Eldrazi that I do, countermagic is a thing", I'm wondering if Cavern of Souls would be worth the investment.

Also, Akroma's Memorial is drawing so much hate in my group lately, it's become essentially unplayable. If it lasts long enough to do good in yours, cool! If not, I've seen folks swapping to Concerted Effort instead.

Draw well!

Thanks! I have thought of putting in Concerted Effort. Akroma's Memorial is a big hate card and I have tossed it in and out of the deck. I'll look into your suggestion of Cavern of Souls.
